Can anyone tell me how to do this? I read something about it somewhere on the boards a while back, seemed like there was something special you had to do or be standing in a certain area or something like that, but I don't remember. I'd LOVE to do this! Thanks!

There is a separate line/queue where the front of the monorail will be when it loads/unloads. It's an area surrounded by railing that forms a little "box" for you to wait. If I remember correctly, there will be a CM stationed there.

Just ask the first transportation CM that you see about riding up front. He'll direct you to the correct area to stand. Many times there is already someone waiting to do this. Be sure to get your "monorail co-pilot" license from the driver.

wait at the most front area for loading, and ask the CM if there is any space avail to ride in the front. If not, you can also stay there for the next monorail train.

Thank you all so much for the information. Hopefully, I'll get lucky and get in there. Thanks again!

Just ask the CM when you get to the monorail platform. We did this last trip. It made our trip from TTC to the MK even more magical than usual.

We asked the cm when we got to the top of the monorail platform if we could ride up front. She showed us the area to wait in. If someone is already waiting or riding you can wait for the next monorail. The best time to ask for the front is when you are going to Epcot from MK. You get an awesome overview of EPCOT. Please note: They limit the number of riders to 4.

I always knew we would have the very best chance if we were first in line but the timing just never seemed to work out until our last trip. It was the end of the day, huge crowds streaming towards the monorail after the fireworks. We were right behind a family with a sound asleep kid in a stroller and a dad who looked so beat he could hardly remain upright. I was pretty sure they couldn't handle any more magic and just wanted to get to bed. I knew if we could just get these people out of our way and go right as fast as we could up to the CM at the front that this would be our chance. I quietly gave our family instructions, as soon as that family moves to get on the monorail GO RIGHT as fast as you can and go straight to the CM up there. It worked. As the family moved forward, they blocked anybody else who would be trying to work their way forward and we shot to the right. I asked politely, said there were only 4 of us (that is their limit for passengers up there), they checked to make sure no one else was already there, and we got to ride. Got a little certificate and everything. It was magical!

We have found the best time to do this is when you are going the opposite direction from anyone else.....example..first thing in the morning everyone is coming from the TTC to MK so we will ride from MK to TTC (no one is going back to thier cars first thing). It is almost a sure shot. Be sure to take pictures from the front too. They can turn out pretty cool!

We got to ride in the front when the CM saw that it was DS b-day. Another family asked after we got there and the CM informed them that they would have to wait until it was available again. We did not have to wait for long b/c the family that was sitting in the front got off at the MK where we were boarding:cheer2:

We were just able to do this last week at Disney (gotta love learning about this stuff on the DisBoards). We just asked the CM who was "tending" the monorail on the platform and he sort of signaled to the driver after the monorail stopped and we were able to sit up front. It helped that we were first in line and the monorail wasn't very busy (we were taking it from the Cont. Hotel over to Poly). Great, magical moment and I made sure to take a picture of the driver w/my boys! We also got the monorail co-pilot licenses! :cool1:
