Hi, gang! Here's the story... DBF and I are going down to Orlando for ten days. We're doing all four WDW theme parks, and the two US theme parks. The plan was to spend 7 days at AKL, and 3 days at one of the US hotels. Well, their rates sucked. No way was I going to pay almost $300 for a room at the Portifino (and the rates were horrid for the other two as well). Our trip is in January, and I wasn't about to wait around for the slim chance that Entertainment rates come out. (And no, I don't have AAA.) So I went back and booked those three days at the WL using the code, and I got a great rate. Although it would have been nice to stay on US property, we're happy with the situation.

My question is this... we really don't want to rent a car, because we like to walk and we won't really use it. What options do we have of transportation from a WDW resort (like WL) to a Universal Studios theme park? If renting a towncar, how much would it be for a ride there in the morning and a ride back in the evening? Are there any shuttles? Any advice? I'd hate to have to rent a car for all ten days, and what a pain it would be to have to get a ride to a rental place to get a car. Am I way off track here? Help please!

I'm not a shuttle person (we usually use Happy Limo or rent a car), but the Mears shuttles to Universal are not bad at all. Usually in the morning they send a smaller van that stops at two or three hotels. To go home, it's the bigger coach-style buses. You might have to wait around a little on the way home, but for me, at that point I'm usually too tired to care!

When we've gone to USF or IOA in the past, I've always contracted with Tiffany for a van. There's a bunch of us that always end up going. They've always been there on time or early to pick us all up.
