Please, don't think I'm crazy for asking this...I'll be 16 weeks pregnant when we visit in Dec. I haven't gone to WDW in a few years and last time I absolutely LOVED the Dinosaur ride at AK. I know it's quite bumpy, but I don't remember how much, and if it's too risky to ride while pregnant. I need your advice. Thanks!

I would check with your DR.

It is really bumby, yerky and I am not sure if you would want to take that risk (however slim).

I would say this one is too jerky and bumpy to ride while pregnant. I went to Animal Kingdom right after I found out I was pregnant and went on the Safari ride and I regretted that about 1/2 way through. I did not remember it being so bumpy. I was very uncomfortable and worried for days that I may have hurt the baby. From now on I will follow the warning signs.

Have a great time!

Christy

It's more jerky than bumpy. When I think of bumpy, I think of an uneven road surface like you find in the Safari and Test Track.
Jerky is more than that. You are going in one direction, come to a sudden stop (or almost stop) and then take off again, sometimes in a different direction, sometimes very quickly. Not the sort of thing you would want to subject your body to while pregnant.

I'm an OB-Gyn doc and have ridden Dinosaur many times. I would not recommend riding it when you are pregnant, especially over 10 or 12 weeks. Too jerky. The kinds of "shearing" forces that are generated can cause the placenta to separate from the wall of the uterus. It's not likely to happen on Dinosaur, but why take the chance? Wait until you can do a baby swap!

I would agree with KathyFP - talk to your doctor!

I'm pretty sure there is a warning sign for pregnant women, people with heart conditions, back pain, etc. advising them not to ride.

Congratulations on your pending addition!

As Jenn already posted, there is a sign for this ride warning women who are preganant not to ride. I agree with the others - better to be safe. There are lots of other things to enjoy while you are waitng for your little one to arrive.

I fully agree. Skip this one. I just wanted to add my sincere Congratulation on the upcoming new addition! :)
