Hi all

Is there a thread anywhere that details what exactly each ride is ?

In particular Armageddon and Star Tours as it sounds like these are coaster type rides on some websites but not on others ....

No to both - i mean nor Armageddeon or Star Tours are a rollecoaster, Armageddon is reported as scary as there are rumors and explosions and fire, Star Tours is like a dynamic cinema that scared a lot my then 10 years old son in 1996, i still have to understand why lol:rotfl:

Cant help you with Armageddon but can with Star Tours

Star Tours is a more a simulator ride and not a rollercoaster. You enter an area that has rows of seats. Sit down and you have a lap belt to put on. There is a screen in front of you which you watch and the ride tips from side to side and back and front :) You are advised if you have any back problems, pregnant or get motion sick, you should not ride.

I have never been on Armageddon but DH has -it is not a rollercoaster and more a simulator again. You do not sit down he tells me!!! He describes the floor shaking, noise and fire :)

Hope this helps

Star Tours is a motion simulator ride. You sit inside the 'space ship' (wearing a lap belt) and watch a screen, then the simulator moves around, tipping backwards, forewards and side to side based on the movements you are seeing on the screen.

Armageddon is different. Here you listed to a intro on a monitor (obvious English speaking actor, dubbed into French with English sub titles!!) then you go into a big theamed room which is on a kind of platform. There you stand and listen to the commentry and follow the storyline. The room tilts and jolts a bit (but not so much as Star Tours as you are standing up) and jets of fire and steam do come out of the walls (although obviously not right were people are standing.) The story here is the space station is being attacked and destroyed.

Neither of these rides are anything like a rollercoaster.

Super ! That is what I was hoping as it means my DD will ride and love them - for some bizzare reason she loves the simulator type rides but is not too keen on coasters)

I'm the same, you couldn't get me on a Coaster for all the tea in China (but then I don't like tea either :lmao: ) but I love Star Tours, though it could do with an update.

DD should be OK s she doesn't get car sick - went on a simulator in the autumn at Goose fair and she loved it. I however hated it - very jerky and shakey ... but my DD ws laughing all the way through it.

Sho loved the fact it really felt like you were on the ride, but that you weren't !

That's what I like about it ~ I can kid myself I'm brave enough to ride a big coaster when I know I'm not!! :rotfl2:
