Hi! I was just reading a thread about fitting a larger family on the rides, and it got me thinking about our situation. We have four kids: 9, 6, 3, and 1. I think most rides will be just fine, but I'm wondering about rides like Dumbo, and other rides with just one bench. I think the "ride alone" age is 7. Since dd is only 6, will they let her ride along with her older brother, or does it have to be with an adult. We'll all be on the ride together, just split up among the cars. Neither dh nor I are thin, so it might be a squeeze to fit three of us on each bench. I bet we could do it if we have to, though. I'd just like to have some advance planning done before we hit the rides in only 26 days!!

I think you will be fine having the 6 yr old ride w/ the 9 yr old.

I think it is possible you may have a problem.

We witnessed a child being turned away from Pooh with her younger brother.

I road on Goofy barnstormer with my child and the 9 year old traveling with us was not permitted to have my daughter sit with her. My daughter had to sit with me.

Just my experience.

My dd's were not allowed to sit together without me until my youngest was 7. Most specificly at the barnstormer my youngest was 6 and my oldest was 8 and they wanted to ride together in one seat with me right behind them. The CM asked my youngest how old she was and told her you must be 7 or ride with a "responsible adult"

Don't worry though, I travel as the solo adult with my dds and we fit 3 in a seat with only a couple exceptions. Even now when my dd's are 9 and 11 we still ride 3 in a seat in everything except RnRC, EE and Space Mtn. We still fit fine in Dumbo as well as Barnstormer, Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Buzz, BTMR, Splash in fact I can't really think of anything we don't fit in that the 3 and 1yo will be riding. You may be ok on rides like Pooh and Snow white where they have one car with two benches to have the 9yo and the 6yo together but it may depend on the CM.

If you have questions about specific rides let me know.

That's interesting. We were there in June and my 10 and 6 year old rode the Barnstormer again and again by themselves. Noone even gave it a second look.

Yep, I think it depends on the CM as my dd's did ride togther without me the day before and we had no idea about the rule. I guess the CM the next day was more strict or my dd looked younger :) I have since read that WDW does require a child to be 7 or older to ride alone.

I just wanted the OP to be preapred that the kids may not be able to sit together alone and have a back up plan.

Absolutely, that is good to know and great to be prepared for. Maybe my little guy looks older or something because he did several rides where they rode and we watched-Tricera Top Spin, Buzz Lightyear and things like that. My 13 year old was there too except for the Barnstormer.
