Everyone have a great weekend.. I am driving to New York for a bridal shower up and back all in one day.. I am so thrilled about that with my three daughters in the car, at least 8 hours.......note to self make sure you take Excedrin with you.. LOL

The house passed home inspection yesterday so we are moving forward to the P & S, I just need to get packing here.......the mover just informed us that he is treating the move to the Cape as a two day move.. which ticks me off... that means they will load the trucks, lock them up and then move them the next day...Oh well...

Diane-It was too cloudy here to see the eclipse last night but our local news showed video of it taken in Minnesota!

Good morning all.

Our plans this weekend includes my whole family coming over for the day tommorrow. There is about 25 in all. We have done this once a month since August - in honor of my 15 year old niece that was killed in a car accident last April. I'm the only one brave enough to host it but I really look forward to it.

DH and I had to go down to the road to see the eclipse several times last night. It just wasn't possible from the house through all the trees. When it was totally eclipsed, the stars seemed to get much brighter. I think it is the first time we have been able to see the stars at this house much since they put the new high school in with all it's lights that stay on all night.

What a great thing to do. It insures that the family stays close in hard times.

Well.....it looks like Erin will be able to go to Florida after all! The date for the orchestra concert is the week after next! It turns out the orchestra conductor was all messed up with the date he told us - and it never got published in the school calendar either.

Erin is delighted.

She's got her work for the week from all of her teachers and is raring to go.

The girls will be outta here on Sunday, through Memorial Day. That means that Sharon and I will be going camping kid-less! First time we've done that in MANY, MANY years!!!

I'm deck-less too! The guys came by last night and torn down the old deck. The materials for the new one are, of course, delayed in getting here. It is so strange to not have a deck there!

No sign of the eclipse here! Too cloudy!

Ellen, my cousins and I do that on my dad's side. It all started when we began to see the older generation pass.....we've been going out to dinner for about 7 years now....once a month or every 6 weeks. We do include our parents several times a year.....unfortunately, the numbers have declined dramatically over those years....

It's a wonderful thing.

I'm looking for websites with car travel info......primarily East Coast please. We had a bunch that gave traffic conditions, construction, web cams & stuff, but lost them with the old computer. If you have any to share I'd sure appreciate it!

Enjoy! In a few years you will lament (for a short time, anyway) that they have all flown the coup for good. That first empty nest year was hard for me, but I wouldn't want them home again now!
