Bernie! I'd forgotten about the eclipse. Maybe I can assign them to watch it, illustrate and write about it, and they should sleep in and stay home for a day to recuperate. Nahh.....that won't work. They'd only come to school MORE tired and cranky than their teacher!

Speaking of lilacs...
I have always loved them and one year when my DS was in high school, he picked a big bouquet of them for me. Only problem was, he stopped near a road to pick them and got in trouble with the owner! We were laughing about that Monday when he took me out to lunch for Mother's Day. He brought me a little sprig of lilac that he picked off the hedge at the restaurant!

Morning everyone! I'm getting a late start today.

I can't believe Memorial Day weekend is almost here. I'd better enjoy my last few weeks of daytime calmness before the kids get out of school.

This weekend, Leah and I will be going camping with her Brownie troop. It's the kind of camping I can handle - staying in a lodge! I'm really looking forward to going, and I hope it doesn't rain.

Ranatra - what lake do you go to for bike riding?

Valerie, I hope your mom keeps improving. Diane, continued good thoughts and prayers for your stepmother, too.

Are we now officially a three country riddle - US, Canada, and UK? Anyone that I missed?

Happy Birthday Kara!

Good morning everyone! Pants beat me here... so I shall be PROPERLY dressed for the day.

Gina has me cracking up this morning! She is on a roll!

You guys need to be on the west coast for the moomer eclipse... we get it sometime around 8 pm - so no need to stay up late! (of course it is just BARELY dark by then now).

The lilacs have been blooming for a 2 weeks now. They are just about finished. I sat on the patio last Sunday under our big shade umbrella - listening to music from Santa Monica on KCRW (very cool PBS station - all music - on the internet - DH has a speaker that pipes the music outside to the patio) AND savoring the wafts of lilac smells that came floating by! AHHhhhhhhh... now that is the way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I need to dream up something to do for Memorial Day! We really have no plans at this point. I think we could do with a short day trip somewhere.

Please....I refuse to admit Memorial Day is around the corner. I have NOTHING done. It doesn't help that the weather isn't cooperating....or that I'm running a book fair.

Our plans for Memorial Day include a deck building party...hopefully!!!!

I can probably swing one day of the riddle too E....let me know....

It's just not possible that Memorial Day is next weekend....not only is it early...but I've done NOTHING in the garden.....grrrrrrrr

Rain again today...will keep me from getting out there again....I really want to mow the lawn soon.....small children could be lost..

Lilacs (NH State flower) will bloom around Memorial Day here...there are several lilac festivals that deck building will probably keep us from....

My lilacs are blooming right now - love lying in bed and smelling the wonderful smell coming through the windows

Kara's scout troop is camping the last weekend of this month - with my luck - I figure it will snow that weekend
