Riddle me this!

Thanks for the laughs this morning everyone! I started the day out with a few groans and chuckles!

Diane - I liked your alternates! Way too clever! Makes me sad you will not be at riddlecon because I know we would have had a great time together. :)

Today is my dad's birthday. Yes, he is an April Fools baby... and he has suffered an entire lifetime of pratical jokes on his birthday. He has patiently put up with it... but honestly if he could change his birthdate... he would! Poor guy... just the luck of the draw I guess. :p

Coffee is brewed... I think I will head out to the CRACKER BARREL for breakfast this morning. There are none in this area... and I like to eat there when I am around one... kind of "good old simple cooking" - what more could one want for breakfast (except maybe some WDW characters in a big castle! :p ).

'Morning, Elaine. Glad you have a giggle or two by yourself! :)

I don't think you'll be seeing any kind of feed from a webcam around here any time soon!!!! Especially from a pantless Riddlemeister! I betcha THAT would get me banned!

John - you're in TROUBLE!!! ;)

Hello, Riddlers! I haven't been around much lately -but I think of you guys often.

RiddleCon officially begins 4 months from today!

Hiya, Nancy!

Looking forward to seeing you there! :)

Bro, in 1971, my parents came to Parents Weekend at Ithaca College. The Orioles were in the World Series but I insisted my dad come to the football game. He kept the transistor radio with the earpiece. I was, of course, embarrassed by his actions until many other people kept coming up to him and asking him for the score of the baseball game.

You all had me LOLing at your stories and jokes this morning! Thanks!

Diane, I'm so sorry that you won't be able to make it to RiddleCon!:( Have a great trip to St. Louis though!

Dan, Have a wonderful time at the world! I'm looking forward to more pics! I never get enough of your picture posts!

True story.

Quite a few years ago, a friend of mine bought tickets for Sharon and I for Kenny Rogers' Christmas Show. The four of us went. The show was at the Landmark Theater in town. We had seats in the balcony, with a great view.

Well......we didn't realize it at the time, but that was the same night that S.U. was playing Miami in football. The game would decide the Big East championship. I was heartily bummed to be missing the game.

But off we went to the show.

I don't know if we caught Kenny on a bad night, but the show was really, really lousy. Emmylou Harris opened and she and her band were absolutely great! But Kenny was stinking the joint up.

All I could think of was the football game.

About halfway through the concert, I was getting a little restive and started looking around. I spied a guy five or six rows behind us who was staring intently into his lap. I thought he was asleep at first and then I notice the flickering lights and the wire leading from his lap to his ear.

He had a battery operated, miniature black and white TV!!!

I kept looking back, trying to catch his eye. Then I noticed two empty seats behind him.

Well, lickety-split, my friend and I were in those chairs, leaning over his shoulders, watching the game.

There wasn't much time left and Syracuse, down by 6, was driving. It got to be the last play and we tossed the ball down the middle. Chris Gedney, the tight end, caught the ball at the 5. He was chugging toward the end zone!! We were going to beat Miami! We were going to win the Big East title! We were going to be so ha........ARG!!! He was takled at the 2!!!! Miami would finish the season undefeated. We would be also-rans (AGAIN!).

The three of us let out a collective groan and began gnashing our teeth.

When we looked up, we noticed that Kenny had stopped the show and was looking up at us. The place had grown very quiet.

"What's up, there boys?", Kenny asked.

We all looked at each other for a moment. Then the owner of the TV spoke up. "WE LOST!!" he yelled. "Gedney got tackled at the two!" The rest of the audience let out a groan too.

Kenny said "sorry to hear that!" and then got the band going again and finished up the show!
