We're thawing here also.....is that better than chillin'????

Inquiring minds need to know......

No school here either, Amid. The roads are pretty clear, but I'm sure the area around the school is a wreck. I'm sure we'll be out there today rolling around in the snow! LOL LOL LOL

Come back......Boo'sMom.........

We are getting up to 32 degrees today too and tomorrow it is supposed to go to the upper 30's. They say cold coming in again for the weekend though and lasting right into next week.

Tonight we meet with the cabinet designer to make some plans for kitchen cabinets. This is just a preliminary, as I want to get quotes from more than one place. Yesterday I spent most of the day looking at flooring. It all seems a bit early yet for that, since it will be a while before we are ready for that stuff, but it will have to be ordered soon.

One Ohioian checking in - all dug out even the bottom of the driveway - though you might think about asking Kara to operate a electric snow blower in the future - he he he - thanks for the pants for the first one - have no clue about the second one - is that an actual riddle

School on today - but the kids have no place to stand while waiting for the buses - since people are barely getting driveways dug - they aren't doing the sidewalks

They are saying freezing rain on the way - it is in Indiana right now - and heading our way

Have a good day everyone

Good clue on that second riddle, John! :)

Oh Marla! I would rather have 20 inches of snow and cold than freezing rain!!! That was one of the things I hated about upstate NY! (sorry, Bern). The freezing rain storms were awful! We don't get those too often around here. There ARE advantages to being too cold!:p

Good morning friends.

I have to go to work today, which is good news for OK since I won't be pestering him with alternate answers!! Right now I don't even have a single answer to either riddle.

I have some sledding pictures...taken before the storm.....and some from my friend's visit. Our own Thelk4 (a/k/a LK) showed me how to upload them so I'll try that later.

Should be fairly warm here today too. Roads are clear but narrow and people pulling out of side streets are having trouble not hitting ongoing traffic.

Does anyone (who remembers the '78 Blizzard) remember how people created their own antenna toppers to be see above the snowdrifts?

Does anyone (who remembers the '78 Blizzard) remember how people created their own antenna toppers to be see above the snowdrifts?

Around here, when there are deep snow drifts, folks put an artificial flower on their antenna. I would have a real problem, since my car has the antenna incorporated into the windshield!

Oh goody.. everyone is getting smartypants and I am stuck.. I hate to think of the answers I almost sent off this morning but the thoughts of Bernie laughing himself silly would hurt my feelings so I am holding back.. until the lightening bolt hits..

Heading to NH today to see some antiquing after I go to the gym.. the mounds of snow around here are incredible.. everyone have a great Wednesday.. :)

The big blizzard that I remember was from 1967. My parents' house sits high on a hill, agains a patch of forest. It snowed so much, and drifted so badly that the only way out of the house was through my bedroom window. On the second floor!

We had so much fun playing in that snow!!

I think that rain is headed our way. Yuck. Double yuck!

The drifts and piles of snow are pretty incredible here also. And dangerous. You take your life in your hand coming out of a sidestreet.....

That was a clue, John??? Shoot.....I thought it was an invitation!!!!!! :teeth:

The upstate NY blizzard I remember was right after Christmas in 1969. My parents and grandparents had come out to visit us for the holiday. The day they were to fly out from Syracuse, the storm hit. We couldn't get them out for 3 days! Our car was buried twice in that one!
