I had to smile when I saw your 3 kids together, I also had 2 boys and a little princess, and the ages looked exactly the same. Course they're 23, 21, and 18 now.

This past trip to Punta Cana, by the way was our first vacation with no kids.

It is a bad sign when I have to use the dictionary to look up one of the words in the riddle, but I have an idea.

Boo, DD is a cutie. I never saw Monster's. Inc, but I am assuming she looks like that Boo. Happy Birthday to her.

Cold again here. Very unsual for these parts to be this cold for so long.

Did anyone watch Trading Spaces with the live reveal on Saturday? I forgot about it early and recorded the midnight replay but the end of it was messed up, on the networks end, not mine. So, they never actually showed the reveal. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch another replay.

Can't wait for the Riddlecon poll. Hope I'll be able to attend.

DH and I have done very few get aways without DD. As much as that is appealing, I keep thinking how she will only be a part of our daily household for another 8 years or so.... which means I want to cram all the time together that she will tolerate! LOL!

Our next family trip is a week on the Olympic peninsula here in Washington state. Whale watching, wilderness beach hikes, hiking the Hoh Rain Forest trails.... hanging out together in a cabin overlooking the Pacific Ocean. (sigh) I could go there right now in fact!

Well, there is a winter storm advisory out for us for tonight and tomorrow. Northern sag of cold air meets a storm system coming up from the Southwest.

We took our first time away without the kids the past October. A 24 hour get away to Ocean City, MD. The kids are 14 and 16 and this is the first time we left them because we didn't have anyone to stay with them and now they are old enough to stay by them selves. (Best run-on sentence is a long time.)

Wow! Perfect timing. Just finished reading the thread and there were my smartie pants! I don't have too many of them so I really appreciate these!

Happy birthday to Boo and to Credit Man. Boo and her brothers make a beautiful looking trio. Very nice family. Three is such a great age!

And much progress made on the log home since the last photos I saw a while back. Looks great. Must be very exciting.

DH and I went away last February/March for the first time since our son was born nearly 17 years ago at that time. He went on his Senior Class trip to DisneyWorld and while he was gone we were gonna go to one of those Pocono Places - You know, with the champagne style bathtubs and pools in the room. But the cost was way inflated in our opinions.

So, instead we went to Gettysburg, PA, a favorite place of ours to visit, and stayed at a hotel with a jaccuzzi in the room at a fraction of the cost of the Pocono places. We reconnected just fine on that trip!

We plan on taking a longer trip without DS in October when we take the Disney Cruise without him. He commutes to college so he will be at home. I think we are going to have an uncle check up on him... especially during the weekends.

Len and I are going away for the night this weekend without the kids. We're going to Toronto to attend a fancy Robbie Burns dinner on Friday night, and then on Saturday we're going to London for a meeting, and we'll come home after that. We try to get away by ourselves as often as possible.
