Riddle me this!

SPB! I wish I could go to the concert with you! DH and I have gone to every concert they have done wherever we are at the time. We have been doing this since 1967! They look a lot different now than they did then, but their message remains the same and the music is just as good. FYI, if you stay after the concert and go up to the foot of the stage, they always come out and talk with the fans about a half hour after the concert is over. VERY interesting people!

Ah, spb999, I would love to see PP&M! Did they sing Puff the Magic Dragon? My kids have that song on tape and I SOB everytime I hear it. My oldest explained to his friend, who was in the car with us last time we heard it, that his Mom is just a little weird. :teeth:

Snoops, they ALWAYS sing Puff and Blowing in the Wind. They usually do something from each of their eras of songs and a few new ones each concert season. The interesting thing about their concerts is the diverse age of the audience. Everything from little kids to , ahem, "my age"!

Thanks for that tip, Diane ... it might take me a half hour to get to the foot of the stage so the timing will be just right :D ... actually it's a fairly new arena and it's my first time there - just got my ticket a couple of days ago so I'm not too close - but as long as I can hear that's all I need !

Snoopy, they usually sing Puff at their concerts but I know they always sing Blowin' in the Wind which most times brings tears to my eyes !! Looking forward to it ... I'll give a review on Monday !

That sounds like a great concert Sandy! :) I have a PP&M CD, and I love listening to it. My nieces and nephews (and me!) love Puff The Magic Dragon and Stewball. :)

Have a wonderful time! :)

Because of Peter's connection to Minnesota (his wife is from here), we get a PPM concert date every year.

Good morning all

Rain Rain Rain - it started here yesterday afternoon and hasn't quit yet - but we need it too

Congrats on the posts Kim

Happy Friday everyone - and have a great weekend:wave:

I have to tell you something that made me feel "old" yesterday ... I told a girl at work I was going to see PPM in concert this weekend and she looked at me and said "who's that?" ........
I was floored for a moment, but realized I probably wouldn't recognize most of the music she likes to listen to either :D

Good morning OK and the Corral

CONGRATULATIONS Kim.

We had rain last night, thankfully. Expect showers through today. Don't know what will happen with the soccer game this afternoon and Marching Band at football tonight. And there is a Marching Band festival tommorw.

Have an answer. PM sent. Nice to end the week with an easy one.

Great picture in your siggy Breezy_Carol!

Good morning everyone!

Congratulations to KIM!

I am soooo glad it is FRIDAY! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

It's been an overly long week - and I need some down time. And, I really need to get into my gardens too. We are supposed to have periodic light rain - but that translates into some "spitting" and not much else around here.

PM sent!

'Morning, all. PM sent...

TGIF!

Hope I didn't wake anybody up! :teeth:

Diane, congratulations on your DS's good news! I'm glad things are going well for him now -- sorry about the trip, though.

Kim, congratulations on 5000 posts!

Gina, are you going to hit 6K today, or are you waiting for Monday morning?;)

spb, that sounds like a great concert! I'm looking forward to hearing about it next week! ;)

 Hi DocRafiki!

It's been raining here off and on for the past couple of days. Yesterday's junior varsity game was lots of fun -- I had to keep leaning over to see under the huge umbrella in front of me. At least they won (20-0!). Our high school's homecoming game is tonight, so I hope the rain stops by then. I'd hate to see the homecoming court dressed in gowns and tuxes out on the field with umbrellas!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This is going to be the slowest-moving Jeopardy game you've ever seen. Other than that, it should work much like good old Jeopardy did, except that anyone can join in any time and play for as long as they like.

Each weekday, sometime between 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. eastern time, I'll post the answer. Your job is to supply the question. Post your questions right on this thread. The first to post the correct question will get the points for that question. You'll also have control of the board and can select the next answer.

No deduction will be made for incorrect answers. So have some fun with it!

I'll accept answers through noon - 12:30 p.m. eastern time. (The exact time will depend on my work schedule). I will try to give a final notice a few moments ahead of time so that you can post your last-minute thoughts. Note that ALL wrong questions posted will be penalized. At that time I'll post the correct question and adjust point totals and I'll ask the DISer who got the correct question to select the next answer. You'll have until 7:30 - 8:30 the following weekday to let me know.

I recognize that post editing can happen, but I'm putting that thought out of mind, knowing as I do the wonderful integrity of all of our CB community......besides - it's only a game.

Note that the answers and questions will increase in difficulty as the point values rise. There will also be one Daily Double in the Jeopardy round and two in the Double Jeopardy round. If you hit the daily double you can wager any portion of your current points or up to 150 points in the Jeopardy round and 300 points in the Double Jeopardy round if you find your point total to be less than 150 or 300 in those respective rounds. (These amounts may change. I'm worried that there may be enough players to dilute the ability to score points without the Daily Doubles and that someone may answer JUST the Daily Doubles and win the game.)

After the two Jeopardy rounds are played, all DISers who have a positive point total will get to play Final Jeopardy. In that round, I'll post a category and give you a day to PM me your wager. You can wager any part or all of your points. After all of the wagers have been received, I'll post the Final Jeopardy answer. All left playing will then PM me their Final Jeopardy question.

I'll post the results after that!

The winner will get a fabulous prize from yours truly. Perhaps it will be something smart-looking...;)

Did I mention that kibitzing is strongly encouraged? :jester:
====================

Continuing the Jeopardy test...

Carol got yesterday's and has earned 50 points, bringing her total to 140 points!

Carol has 140 points
Yepod has 100 points
Breezy has 40 points
Baboo has 30 points

Yesterday's Answer and Question....(Comedians, 40 Points):
He has a buttoned-down mind.

Who is Bob Newhart?

The last answer on the board is Comedians for 10:

Old Ski Nose.

Comedians

FINAL JEOPARDY ON MONDAY!!! :)

Edited to correct Breezy's score...

Good morning all! Pm sent and answered. Bernie's fast this morning!

Welcome DocRafiki! Always great to see a new face!

Congrats to your DS Diane! That's great news for him and maybe the trip will still work out.

Woohoo on 5000 posts Kim! I remember when you and I had the same amount. That sure isn't true anymore!

Have a great time at the concert spb! I love PP&M.

We're going to Toronto for the weekend. On Sunday afternoon there's a DIS meet there, so I'll get to see a couple of riddle buds then. See you there Kim and Julie!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Who is Bob Hope?

Curse that 60 second rule!
