If you just went outside and put something in your car, and noticed that the sky looked dark, would you roll up your window?

OR

Would you ask someone else to let you know when it starts raining so you can close your window?

Note: This is in New England where is has rained almost every day this summer.

Other. I don't leave my car windows down ever. Ha--there's always an "other," isn't there?

So--who wants you to let them know when it starts raining?

I'd have closed the window. Quite frankly, I think it's a bit rude to expect someone else to have to worry about letting you know when you would need to take care of something so basic.

Just editing to add that I meant "you" in the general sense...I'm guessing that you weren't the one who left the window down. :)

LOL - I don't ever leave my windows down either. And as far as I'm concerned, once it actually starts to rain, it's too late! The car's already getting wet inside! I won't go outside in the rain, anyway.

(okay, if my house caught fire during a thunderstorm, yeah, I'd go out there, but under normal conditions, nope, not getting wet unless I'm dressed for it, amd will get totally wet all over. Meaning a bathing suit for the pool or a birthday suit for the shower. I can't stand the feeling of "partial wetness" you get from being rained on. I won't buy groceries in the rain, or do anything else that involves partial wetness. :rotfl: I love to swim, though, and I'm definitely a fan of regular bathing. lol. I just hate the way clothes feel when they're rained on. <shudder> )

I try to find out what the weather holds for the day when I first park. If it isn't supposed to rain and its going to be hot, I'll crack open the sunroof to let heat out. If it looks like rain or is supposed to rain that day, I'll leave it closed. I never leave a window cracked.

If I had DH's truck, depending on how much of a crack in the window I had, I may or may not roll up the windows some. The truck has the rain shields on them, so being cracked open a good inch is ok.

If it was my car, I would either roll them all the way up, if it was looking really dark out or I would leave a small crack for air flow. The sun roof would be closed if it was really dark, up tilted up if it was just looking like a light rain. Knock on wood, so far it has never rained really hard with the sun roof open.

I would never ask someone to tell me if or when it stats raining.

I feel like the office weathergirl. :rotfl: It hasn't started raining, yet.

Quite often if I notice it is raining, I will glance out to see if someone's windows are down, but I don't want to feel responsible if someone's car gets wet.

Heck, I have a huge widow in my office and look through a gigantic window right outside my office door, and I still roll up my windows every day.

Ummm..considering I'm in upstate NY - where it's rained just about every day since - oh I don't know - the last week of May - my windows are always rolled up.. LOL :rotfl:

But to answer your question, I would roll them up myself - if I ever had a reason to have them down..;)

I'd roll my window up or not, but I certainly wouldn't ask someone to let me know if it rains.

My mom is the queen of "remind me." I hate it.

I admit I voted to tell me, but that is only because DS got sick in my car and the stench is...well you get the picture. The longer the windows are down the better it is when we have to get in it next. I tried Febreezing the seat after I cleaned it up, but all that did is add a febreeze scent to mix with the aroma. (Febreeze and #2...what a combo!)

I voted that I roll 'em up, but there IS an exception in that when I drive my husband's van. See, he took garbage to the dump in his van one day, and there was a REALLLLLYYYY nasty something that leaked out of one of the bags and into the back. The smell is... indescribable. We've been working over that stupid van trying to get the smell out, but on warm days when the windows are up... I could just vomit. :crazy2: So! His windows stay down unless it rains, then they're only a little down LOL And, I drive that thing as LITTLE as possible.

Other...I always keep my windows up.

And asking someone to tell you when it is raining is lazy. Take care of your own car.

Unless what I've just put in my car is an animal that needs the cool air in the middle of summer, I don't park with my windows down.
