I agree with those of you avoiding the debate board. If I have something to share or discuss, it pretty much stays in this thread or Riddle Me This. I know and trust you all and feel comfortable with you.

On another note, we went to Outback Steak House last night for dinner, and even had dessert, which we NEVER do in restaurants. Came home and I opened gifts. These included a long sleeve T-shirt and a sweatshirt from the Disney Store. Then the best thing, DH made a list of "50 great things about Carol". I won't list them all for you, but let me give you #21, "ability to organize a party of strangers in Ohio at the last minute." When I get excited about RiddleCon, he keeps saying how it is 6 months away and will we be hearing about it everyday until then. It is a great list.

It is pouring rain here today. If it was colder and this was more snow, we would be stuck inside until May. It is awful out.

Morning everyone! I got up early to put a second coat of paint on our bedroom furniture. It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself! Using oil based paints for this project so the house stinks right now. I cracked a few windows in where the nightstands are drying. I didn't realize how long it takes for oil-based paints to dry. I thought I could finish this up in a day, but it looks like it will take all weekend plus a few more days. I still have to paint the dresser and chest of drawers and our headboard. I will be sure to take before and after pictures to share.

Today is cookie delivery day, so I will be heading out soon to coordinated all of that. Thank God I don't have to lug all 1,464 boxes to my house. One of our families is involved in volunteer firefighting so they arranged for us to distribute the cookies to our families from the fire station. Now I need to find room for the 260 boxes that DD sold...

Glad you had a great birthday Carol. What a sweet thing for DH to make that list for you! Awwww....

My DH thinks I am nuts too when I talk about stuff on the DIS! I am slowly trying to get him involved in what is going on here so he won't feel "out of the loop" when RiddleCon comes around. I even made him post an answer one time to OK's riddle so he could get his very own smarty pants.

You said it perfectly Carol!!! GLad you had a nice birthday. The rains haven't reached us yet but they're coming. We're making sure our gutters and downspouts are clear of snow. I am also very happy that it's not colder!!!

A technical question, how to you reference quotes in your reply? Do you click on the quote button at the bottom of the post from which you are taking the quote then edit it down to the part you want to use? How do people quote more than one other poster in their response?

You may see some testing going on here.

There may be a better way to do it, but this worked for me ....

I hit the quote button on the first post I wanted to quote ....
in the post reply screen I did a copy of the whole text then backed out .....

Then I went to the second post I wanted to quote
In this post reply screen I pasted in the quote I copied from the
previous, and that got me the two quotes with the associated names ......
