Richard Petty experience-anyone do it recently?

My DH loves Nascar and thought this would be a great extra thing to do on our trip this year. I called and got some general info. Just wondering if anyone has done this and what their thoughts were on it. I am also thinking my DS's ages 16 and 14 would enjoy it too. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

While I haven't done the RPDE at WDW, I have done it at Daytona and another similiar program at Dover, and it is definitely a great idea if your husband loves NASCAR. I have only done the drive programs, not the ride alongs, but my 14 year-old DS has done the ride along and so has my DW. Both of them absolutely loved it. The nice thing is once you do a drive program, they give you $200 off future drives at any other RPDE track for the next two years. So if he gets hooked, it gets cheaper. They are very thorough and make sure you are comfortable before you begin and are always about safety. It's a great gift idea. My DW and DM actually paid for my experience on my 35th birthday last year. I say go for it.

I did the ride-along one in Vegas and it was awesome. A must-do for any NASCAR fan.

We did it for our son's birthday when he turned 15. I think there was a special groupon or something. He enjoyed it. The staff inside was lackluster. Not very attentive, but the crew outside and the driver were great.

My ds(17) did the stock ride along for his 14th b-day and the exotics (Ferrari for 16th ad Lambo for 17th) . He loved it each time. We have several friends that have driven at several of the dif locations-all the stock cars = and they all have the plaques and love to tell about it even yrs later.

Such a good idea for any fan.
