Richard Petty Driving Experience

Has any one had any experiences with this? (Good or Bad)

I am trying to get my parents to go with us this June. My Father is a huge NASCAR fan. Since we would be in Orlando for Father's Day I thought this would be a great gift for him.

I booked this for my husband a few weeks ago. He did the rookie expierence, where they get to drive the car for 8 laps after a safety course. The cost was $403.64 after tax. He says it was the highlight of his trip, probably his decade!!! Anyhow, they have a ride along program too that is somewhere right around $100.00. Anyhow, the rookie expierence will take 3 or so hours depending on how many people signed up that day. Reservations are required. I booked his though only 10 days or so out.

We haven't done this in Orlando, but my boyfriend won a "rookie experience" from a local radio station and we went when they were in Richmond. He had a great time, and said it would've been worth it even if he had had to pay full price for it. (and as thrifty as he is.. that is high praise considering it works out to about $50 a lap!)

There were several repeat customers there when we went, and everyone seemed very pleased. Some of the boys looked like little kids at Christmas. They also have a kids ride along where they ride the track in a van. Have a great time if you go, I think that's a very thoughful gift!
