never done it, couldn't do it alone as I don't drive a stick, but you could hear them racin cars from the 1800 loop on sunday makin a big ol noise.

U comin for the 4th of July?

I did the ride along on July 3rd 2007. I bought two more discounted tickets for 2008. I am 61 and I had a blast.
I didn't trip the driver, but I did buy the souvenir plaque....They have a small gift shop. If you have a car you can pull right into the infield. Go to the MK parking lot and follow the signs to the tunnel. There will be a guard at the gate to allow you to pass under the track and on to the infield. Going into the track like that was fun.

Oh come on! You don't know how to drive stick! I have a trans am waiting for you down here to learn, or better yet for my sanity, my jeep is stick too! Driving is not driving unless you have your hand on the stick!:rotfl:

I will need to give you lessons at the grand gathering. Settled.

As soon as I can afford it, I am driving at Richard Petty. Man, what an experience that is going to be. I have already promised everyone that I will not rub other cars or the walls, pit crew, or other obstructions somewhere inside the fences. ;)

Be ashamed, very ashamed!!!! Probably due to poor toilet habits when you was very young.
Rog, I'm proud of you. You're in day two of the new you. Lets see if you can make it three.

I bought DH the Ride a Long Experience and he loved it and wants to drive sometime in the future. We videotaped it and in viewing the video, noticed that he only got 2 laps instead of 3...they can't count the warmup lap can they?

I just cant believe it. There are actually men that have never driven a stick?:confused3 Hmmmm I thought that was the first right of passage into manhood?:rotfl2:

Ok, sorry about that to any and all who have not experienced it. There is just something about pushing the clutch in at a stop light and revving up the motor.
:woohoo: Popping the clutch and squealing the tires on take off. Ahhhhh forgot for a minute there this is 2008 and I'm a grandma not 1976 and a giggly teenager

ooooooo Gator, Grandma got you!

I got the ride along and then the 9 lap drive for DH. He was 59 at the time and had a ball! Our friend took a bit of video of his 9 laps and he still (3 years later) puts it on his computer and watches it every once in awhile. He said it was the most fun thing he has ever done! :thumbsup2

Der aint nuttin better fer da soul den a good'ol mental breakdown.

I drove probably 7-8 years ago. At that time the track was kind of rough and after the few laps we ran I was good to go. It was fun but required a great deal of concentration and the track bounced you around quite bit. They offered a deal to do some more laps but every one in our group was happy with what they ran. I think my top speed was like 130ish but I can't really remember. I think I would have preferred a larger track (like Charlotte) and a smoother ride.
