Thursday "Star Wars" Day - May the 4th be with you...
(sorry
)
Well, I start the day with my customary walk over to Sassagoula's to get the 2 teas and "juice" of the day for Victoria (Victoria is now your typical teenager and needs to be dragged out of bed, Avonia....well, as I'm attached to my kneecaps I'll say no more
)
Once breakfast is finished and Avonia and Victoria are finally ready, it's time to get into Miss Piggy for the trip over to Animal Kingdom. Plenty of opportunities to use the Photopass:
We head straight for the Safari and pick up our fastpass tickets - return in 30 minutes; not bad!. This gave us a chance to have a stroll around and get in a few photos and videoing.
Once done, it's back to the Safari via fastpass. Have you ever noticed the "evil eye" some people give you from the regular queue as you stroll past them?
We get to see some of the animals; Victoria tries to video it all, but the best bit is the baby elephant (now I'm sure we took a photo of that).
Ah, yes, there it is in the distance.
After we'd finished the Safari we walked over to Everest to pick up the obligatory fastpasses then returned to take lunch in Tuskers; a very good Counter Service place and well recommended if you're on the Disney Dining Plan. Well plumped and watered we did the lazy walk back to Everest, taking in a few photos on the way again.
Having given time for our lunches to go down its straight onto Everest (again!). There are some rides you just can't get enough of.
I've mentioned in earlier reports the above average temperatures we'd been having. Well, today we hit 97F
. Hot! Hot! Hot! We decided to make our way back to POFQ, and in doing so noticed that there was a walk on for Its a Bug's Life. Ahhh! Air conditioning. Bliss. And the show was excellent as well.
Miss Piggy pumped out her own air-con and gave us a very comfortable ride back.
On opening our hotel door, we noticed that Baby Bun (much loved travelling companion of Victoria - and photoed on every holiday) had acquired a couple of new friends.
We relaxed, freshened up, and then it was over to EPCOT for our evening meal at Le Cellier. This was the first time we'd eaten here and to say we were impressed would be an understatement. The food and service were excellent, and the bill (thank goodness for the Disney Dining Plan) came to $154.
Over eaten again!! We then took up our "position" at the wall in Canada to view the fireworks. We decided to take in the sites at night, and also the temperature was now becoming bearable (only 85F).
Although the heat may have been getting to us.
Once over and done Miss Piggy took the 3 of us back to the hotel for another well earned rest.
