Back when I was looking at others LOs to get ideas on what to do for the "Everything Else Disney" swap I checked out TwoPeas and saw lots and lots of Fun Fur yarn on pages.

Ever since DisneyFreakJackie posted her Disney ABC book I've been looking again and ahve seen some but not much fun fur. It seems that the "new" thing (at least to me) is to use ribbon. I see a lot of people folding a strip of ribbon and attaching it with staples.

I like the look, but have a couple questions:

1. Are you using regular staples? Or special scrapping staples?
2. Is there another way to attach the ribbon to get a similar look w/o using staples?

Yuck, I hate staples. I don't know why, it just looks too industrial to me or something. I attach my ribbon by punching holes and threading it through the cardstock or wrapping it around to the back and taping it there. I have also used it with a brad to "hang" journaling from, like a picture. I just bought some of those cute buckle things to thread it through, but I haven't used them yet.

I have attached them as Stephres said, but mostly I use glue dots.

I like the folded look but not the staples I fold and attach with a brad.

I do think the staples are normal ones and now they have the colored ones out. and now they have a large stapler with designs on the staples. you can check it out at bargin pack.com

I also use glue dots/or lines

i love love love ribbon....i am also addicted to that as well!!! there isn't a page that i do without it...and i have all boys...

i do use staples, and glue dots, and like marissat said...glue lines...those are my fav new adhesive...they are the best.

what you can also do is punch a hole and tie an not, or tie them through the whole in a tag.

Just wanted to add a comment on the "staples" topic. The manager of Scrapbooking Dept. in my local AC Moore told me yesterday that EK Success Rep was talking about a new Stapler thingy for Scrapbooking... appartently the staples will be LARGE/ WIDE , Multicolored and will have a surface for writing. Anyone else hear about this? I'm always a sucker for a new gadget... so I'll be curious to check it out when it hits stores.

I couldn't help myself, I bought the cute pink mini stapler with cute hot pink staples at target from the new dollar spot stuff... and yes, I bought the purple one too... Can't wait to use them on a layout! (gotta stay away from target...) maggie

it is calles the fastenator and it is already in stores. i got if from my lss. yes the staples are wide, but not wide enough for writing on them...you can paint and sand them though. they come in a variety of colors and designs (silver, gold and copper) . the machine itself is about $23-25 depending on where you buy it. it is large enough to do it anywhere on a 12x12 page.

although i have seen on 2peas that some people are just buying the staples and pushing them through the paper like a concho and bending the prongs closed. i on the other hand *needed* to have the tool as well.

it is really cool and i can't wait to use it...as i still haven't yet!!!

I was just looking at BargainPack for those brads (someone said they couldn't find them - she's out :( ) and there's a statement at the top of the page that says she's out of the Fastenator until mid-August...because everyone else is also! So if you don't have one yet, you may have to wait a while.

I never liked the "staple" look either. One day I got lazy and didn't feel like doing the eyelet thing so I tried the staples . . . NOW I'M ADDICTED!!! I LOVE it!!! I use regular old staples!! :cheer2:

jackie, i love staples too...they are just about the easiest and cheapest embellishment you can use...and functional!!! gotta love them!!!
