Not real sure how the RFID work. Do you get them when you check in at your Disney World Resort? Pretty sure last time we was there we used key cards to get in the park.

Not real sure how the RFID work.

1- Do you get them when you check in at your Disney World Resort?

2- Pretty sure last time we was there we used key cards to get in the park.

1- Yes.

2- The cards still look and feel about the same as before (same size, etc.)
but they have an RFID chip sandwiched inside.

You now "touch" those tickets to a reader at the park gate, and scan your finger to
enter the park.

For FastPasses, the cards still have the customary magnetic stripe to use in the
standard FP machines.

For entering your resort room, you just "touch" the card to the lock mechanism and open the door.

The key cards now have RFID rather than the swipe bar. (and at some point, the RFID-enabled key cards will be replaced with RFID-enabled "magic bands", but that is 3 months past schedule and counting, probably sometime in late 2013/early 2014)

They do still have a magnetic swipe bar. You must use the swipe bar to get fastpasses because there's no RFID technology for the fastpasses that is active yet.

The key card will look exactly the same. The difference will be that you can now use the RFID entrance gates at the park and the tap-to-pay service if you set your key card up with a PIN code and link a credit card to your room account.

Do regular park tickets have the RFID, or just KTTW cards and APs? TIA
