No more barcodes on FP. They are being scanned by readers as you enter the queue.

I wonder if they are going to be more strict about return times. Last time we went we got caught up a few times and ended up returning a little late, 15 minutes at the most but were still allowed in.

RFID would definitely go against the idea of getting rid of paper fastpasses because they aren't echo friendly. Unless of course it is still leading to the idea that you would be able to "pull" a fastpass from a kiosk by loading it onto and RFID enabled device.

I think the RFID in the FP must be temporary for this test because it's not in the tickets yet. And there's no point in putting it in all tickets for a test when only a fraction of tickets on any day will pull a Space FB.

On the other thread about the scanners people were coming up with theories on if this is a greater test for full roll out at a later date in Disneyland. Some are worried that fp+ and Magicbands will be rolled out there. One theory is that Disney is just looking for a way to get rid of paper fast-passes so I was saying that if they are adding RFID chips to each fastpass (even during the test and the paper ones being pulled for Space) that would kill that theory. However, it still supports the theory that they could be moving to a RFID system at some point down the line. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough as I know it is not in the Disneyland tickets yet nor is it on every fastpass yet.

I was just thinking that it would be ridiculous to put RFID in FPs, so that aspect of it is probably temporary. I really don't care at this point what it might indicate. I know that CMs often only notice the return time and miss the fact that paper FPs are often used on completely different dates. I'm glad that this would stop people from abusing paper FPs in that way, even though that abuse is probably very, very limited.

So barcodes the other day, RFID today. Looks like they may just be doing a simple comparison of which technology is faster/easier. Who knows what they actually plan to use it for. I actually believe them when they said that they were just using Space Mountain FPs as a general test case for technologies rather than it being a sign of actual changes to the FP system across Disneyland.

I say they do a mix of fp+ but not a full one./ Let ppl use a fp machine kiosk each day or each morning maybe a day ahead of time? To get some rides saved and get rid of paper.
