someone posted a while back that if you sign up for something on the rainforest cafe/landry's website, you pay $25 and then when you go to a restaurant, you get it credited back to you to use while there. the same person also said that during your birthday month, you are given a $25 gift card to use there as well. our trip is in december and dbf's birthday is in december. does anyone know how to do this? $50 credit would definitely buy us dinner and this is one of my favorite restaurants. thank you!

I have had the RFC Safari card for a few years now. You get either 10% off your total meal or a free appetizer each visit. If I remember correctly, I think I got a $10 giftcard in the mail after we first signed up. On my birthday, they send me an email wishing me a happy birthday, and give me a code for a free dessert. We love this card, because you also get priority seating, so you don't have to wait in line for hours trying to get a table.

Whoever that was drastically overstated the Safari Club.

If you have a local Landry's restaurant, I would recommend going there and signing up, especially if you have a couple months until your trip, so you can get the $10 gift certificate (one discount per table, though, so i don't *think* you can use that AND your discount from the card at the same meal) before your trip.

I read what I think is your other thread where someone told you it was only $80 to put no-expire onto a 10 day ticket...if it's the same person who told you both things, stop listening to them! :goodvibes:hug:

What they are talking about is the Landry's Select Club which is different than the Safari club. I already had the Safari club but when I was at Saltgrass I joined the Select Club and the next time we went we got the $25 and also the $25 birthday month credit. It was all on the card and we didn't have to do anything.

so how do you join or sign up for this? does it also need to be in=person? how do you tell them you're interested in the select club instead of the safari club? is it worth it to get it if we're only using it at WDW?

1) One sweet deal.
2) It pays for itself double!
3) Once again, this IS NOT the Safari Club.

We were at Saltgrass steakhouse and they asked us if we wanted to join. I almost didn't join because I already belong to the Safari Club but when they told us all the benefits we decided to do it.

That may have been ME!!! I wrote saying I joined the Landry Select Club. Not the Safari club. www.landryselect.com It costs $25 but you get a $25 credit on your card! Also in your birthday month they add another $25 that can be used until the 15th of the next month (I think...check this out to be sure). You get points for $$ spent at their restaurants. You do not get points for the birthday points they add only actual dollars you spend. This has nothing to do with the Safari club which has its own benefits but I think this one is better for what we use it for! The Safari club is in person only but the Landrys Select can be done online.

it may have been - thank you for clarifying!! do i have to sign up at a restaurant? if so, can i do this: can i go into RFC or t-rex on the first day of our trip, verify the account, and then come back later to use the $25 credit and the $25 birthday credit a few days later?

You can sign up online or at one of the restaurants, but since you have time before your trip getting it online is probably going to be easier. They'll mail your card so make sure you allow enough time to get it, but then you can register it from home and have the rewards ready and waiting when you arrive at WDW.

The club really is a sweet deal; the fee to join is one-time but the birthday reward comes every year, so it does much more than double your money if you have a Landry's restaurant you like close to home. We have a Landry's seafood place in the next town up and I just love going there to use my birthday reward every year. :goodvibes

I signed up online and registered my card online. The address on the back of my card is www.landrysselect.com I don't remember if that is the address I first used. I may have just gone to T-Rex.com The card can be used at any Landrys restaurant. T-Rex and RFC included. I don't have one close to us at home but we go to WDW in March which is my birthday month!:)
More details online on the landrys FAQ's page.
