what do you do to reward yourself?

I am thinking about getting a massage. Don't know where to even go though...

My reward is usually new clothes. I figure that is something I need when they start to look too baggy. I'm not having that problem yet, but that is what I did year before last. I remember some at one time said if they met a goal, they would treat themselves to new nail polish or something like that. If you set yourself up for a massage, enjoy it!

I did clothes last year too. You'd be amazed at how a smaller size really makes you feel good!!

I'm trying to hold off on lots of clothes until I get to goal. I've had to buy some, but I've been able to "closet shop" from my supply of various sizes.

In the meantime, I bought a new purse (a healthy back bag from LL Bean, which I love.) It wasn't really a weight loss reward, but it could have been. Someone on the WW board buys herself socks when she has losses. I've thought about other non-sized things like earrings.

I buy soap and lotions...things that make me feel good about myself. I LOVE LUSH soaps. They are expensive and don't seem to last as long as I would like, but they definately serve a purpose. I also use these products as rewards after a good workout. On one of my rest days, if I have done everything I set out to do, I love using a good bath melt bar....and after working out on my workout days I use the Rock Star soap. I just LOVE that stuff!!!

Of course BBW has some very wonderful lotions and soaps....but I used to use them so they are not so much of a treat. LUSH is my indulgance!!!

I've bought new clothes but want to hold off on buying too many until goal. I got my hair highlighted with blond streaks and I love it! I also plan on getting a MAC makeover when I hit 100 pounds lost.

When I finally meet my goal of the month in exercise challange I'm going to get myself some new workout clothes. This way I'll know its a habit and won't be wasting the money.

I need to make a more short term reward like getting haircut or nails done for doing my workouts all week or drinking my water content all week. i dunno I will have to think more about this.

I know this sounds vain but I reward myself by tanning. There is a tanning booth at my gym so when I workout I go tanning. I only tan once or twice a week, I don't want to look like the female version of George Hamilton but I want to be ready when short season comes...

keep 'em coming, please? I want to go clothes shopping but, I want to get something hip ;) not really sure where to start...

I would consider tanning, but I'm a strawberry blonde with freckles, probably not best for me, although I would love to have a bit of color on this peaches and cream complextion... :flower:

Warm rock massage, ohhh, what a treat. Where do you find places for these things? Yes, I must live under a rock! Plus, I'd rather have a guy do a massage, is that weird? Most women want a woman, right? That would feel really weird to me...

I'm also considering going back to college and getting another BS degree in accounting. Now that would be the ultimate reward! :teeth:

Like I said, keep those great ideas coming! I need lots of different ideas!

Wow, everyone has such great ideas! I've given myself massages (if you're not sure where to begin, do you belong to a gym? They can usually recommend one for you, or have an in-house massage therapist) as well as clothes.

Another item is shoes. Either nice shoes (the only non-athletic shoes I have are Dansko shoes, and they aren't cheap), or workout shoes.

Toiletries also work, but I tend not to spend money on them (for example, I buy mostly Aveeno-brand lotions, which I can get for cheap at Wal-Mart -- I avoid the department store expensive brands).

If I've had a particularly good workout, I love to take a long scented bubble bath with a calming candle in the bathroom, listening to the radio, and reading a travel magazine or something so I can daydream. :) Sometimes just taking time out from the day to relax is a big enough luxury! :)_

I don't really have anything new to add. I have done most of the things mentioned here. I will find that I can enjoy a nice dvd and relaxing moment since being busy is what we are alll about at our house and we often don't stop to relax. So it doesn't have to cost $, make yourself a gift of time...I sometimes take a slow stroll somewhere to stop and smell the roses without that workout thing going on. I love walking outdoors so it is a treat to just watch the world go by.

I've thought of one reward for goal I'd want besides new clothes. I want to apply to go to this really cool recording arts school near my house. I always dreamed of going to medical school after a premed/ minor in music degree. But I truly would love to go into music production, record production and sound engineering. The scary part is that they think someday there wont really be cd even since everthing is heading towards MP3 players and Ipods. I'm sure they still need sound engineers but pay will be different than it is now. Also the whole music biz is hard to get into and I am always afraid my weight would reflect my success in that business. Even though I'm not going for pop star or anything and couldn't even if I could sing really well because I have such horrible stage fright that I KNOW is not caused by my weight.

My goal reward to myself is gonna be to apply for this school anyway. :)
I wanna finish up my associate in arts first but I may do this school before going back to university to complete teaching degree(Early childhood education is what I'm working towards now, or was before my dd was born)

:cheer2: :Pinkbounc
