Reward for referring new members..What is best?

Today I got a $200 reward for referring new members to DVC . It is a certificate that I have to mail back choosing, among other options, between getting $200 Disney Dollars or using "up to $200 towards my dues". If anybody has received this, what is more convenient? What does "up to 200 towards my dues" exactly mean. How about those Disney Dollars? Do I get change if I don't use all of them?

Bumping to see if anyone has a suggestion. I live in a "no referal reward" state.

Joe -- I'm 99% sure that you get change back from the Disney Dollars just like you would if you used a traveler's check.

We recently received one as well. We were torn between the Disney dollars and dues. We went for the Mickey cash. It has been a few years since we have used it, but believe they will give you Disney dollars for smaller denominations. I think if you ask they will convert it.

Hey Joe- we recently referred 2 new DVC'ers for a total of $550- we thought it was a no brainer to put it toward dues. That covers our whole year! We usually request Disney dollars from relatives for our son's birthday, since all of our money goes towards new disney clothes for him. He's growing like a weed!!

I have no idea--Ohio is a "no reward" state--but I'd take the dues as well.

We had the choice between the dues credit or Disney dollars and chose Disney dollars. We then split them with the friends who referred us as it was found money and they were going back home before us.

I'm pretty certain that Disney Dollars don't come in demoninations greater than $20. In fact, $20 and $10 may be the only denominations, available, period - but I'm not sure of that.

When I received my last $200 referral reward, I got it in all $20's. The next time we had a DVC reservation, I put all $200 on my account at check-in. Thought I "knew" this wouldn't be the case, they told me that they would have applied any $$ left over at the end of my stay to the credit card I also put down on the account.

I've also heard people being able to change Disney Dollars back into USD at different places in the parks - like customer relations - though I've not had personal experience with that...
