1. We typically have a credit card (Disney Visa) on file at our Disney hotel for all charges. We then use our magic bands for most everything. However, I believe that in order to get the 10% discount at shopping and dining locations you have to physically hand them the Disney Visa credit card. Right? Also can I use a Visa Rewards Dollars card and get the discount? See below.
2. How do I put the Visa Rewards Dollars card on my hotel account so that everything gets charged to it?

I’ve read that you may use the rewards card and still receive the discount. I haven’t tried personally but am planning to do so in a few weeks.

At check in you can add “gift cards” including the Visa reward card.
DON’T get rid of the card in case of refund/errors.
Yes, you need to show and use the Visa to get the discount so bring it with you.
No you can’t not get the discount by showing a reward card

That's what I thought but then I saw this on the Disney rewards page:

Anyone confirm doing this?

I think the sticking point is that merely showing your Rewards Card or Disney Visa is not sufficient. You must actually use them in order to obtain your discount. That's different from a DVC membership blue card which has no cash value to it. But members can show their card, use any acceptable form of payment and still get their discount.

One time at O'hana the waiter asked if we had any discounts and we told him that we were not DVC members but staying at BWV and he said that was fine and gave us the discount.

I plan to pay for our meals with the Reward Card if we get a discount.

For dining and shopping you have to use either option to get the discount. For cardmember perks like special photo ops or pins, you need to show your Disney Visa - not the Rewards Card. If you want to use it for the hotel, then you can use the Visa card as your payment method hold. That will then be the card linked to the Magic Band. If you want to use the Rewards Card for the hotel, then you have to go to the desk and use them to pay at the end of the trip. It won't be used on your Magic Band since gift cards can't be used as the payment method hold. I know, it's confusing.

1. You must present the card to receive the discount (not a magic band). I’m trying to remember if they accepted the rewards points when applying a discount! But I know for sure you could not use the band...I’m fairly certain that it may have varied by dining location.
2. I went to the front desk after arrival and they were able to apply my rewards points to my account.

Last I knew you do not get the Disney Visa discount if you pay by Magic Band, even if that is linked to your resort account. You must paid at the time of purchase with either the Visa credit card or the Rewards Redemption Card.

Hmm good catch, might be new then but has never worked for me in the past

Yes, I can confirm you must use the Disney Visa or Rewards card at the point of sale. You cannot use your magic band to get the discount. Also a merchandise purchase must be over $50.
