Hi

Are there any threads for reviews, write ups on the character dining options? If not, does anyone have any thoughts?

THANK YOU

We did all but Surf's up earlier this month.
I loved them in this order
The Plaza
Ariel/Storytellers are tied
Goofy's Kitchen

If I were to go back ever again we'd to The Plaza again for certain. And probably Ariel's (since it isn't limited to breakfast).

We did Surf's Up on our last trip. Character interaction was great, particularly Stitch. (Although the boy had never seen that movie and wasn't sure what to think! :) ) And the photo with Lifeguard Mickey is one of my favorites from that trip. We've got it on the calendar for our December visit.

I was looking for info on the same. We are planning Surfs up and ariels for lunch. Hope to see more reviews on the rest.

Thanks guys, this is helpful :) can I ask which characters you had too? Just to get an idea.

Aside from the photo with Mickey at the beginning of Surf's Up, we had Minnie, Pluto and Stitch. I think Daisy was there too, but the boy was having more fun with the little dance party they did and we might have missed her. This was 2012 so I don't know if the rotation has changed any.

There are new threads on this very topic every day if you want to search a bit :)

I absolutely love character meals. Our favorite, right now, is Minnie's for the amount of characters. We have found the best interaction by booking the first seating for an inside table.

We enjoy Surf's Up also. Stitch is awesome!

I was not impressed with Ariel's at all. Bad service, very limited interaction.

I was not impressed with Storytellers either. Only three of the characters came to our table, two of which were Chip and Dale, who you can see at multiple character meals and many places in the parks.

Goofy's was a disappointment with the reduction in the number of characters. Now it is only Goofy at the photo station, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip and Dale.

Oh that's a shame about goofy. I did that one in 2013. We had Mulan there.

Thanks for the feedback x

we keep going back and forth between Ariels and goofys lol but our fav is plaza inn. How are you doing lunch at surfs up?

I've only been to one of the character meals official, but have kind of experienced Storytellers.

Surf's Up at PCH Grill (breakfast) features Mickey (photo op), Minnie, Pluto, Daisy, and Stitch. I found the food to be pretty good (some unique items, some standard items) and mostly refilled fairly quickly on the buffet. The characters came around to the tables, but there was a bit of wait before the first one arrived. The characters seemed friendly and Stitch tried really hard to get the youngest of the little ones in our group to be less shy around him. It was cute for the adults to watch. I would not hesitate to return if I had a little one that liked these characters.

I've kind of experienced Storytellers' breakfast on a couple of occasions. I usually go for the first lunch seating, but that means the last breakfast seating folks are still there. Last time, breakfast had been extended to around 1:00 pm (due to crowds), so the characters were still making the rounds of the dining room when I was there (we stuck to the lunch menu, but were offered the option of the breakfast buffet). Even though we were doing the lunch menu, the characters stopped by and posed for photos with us (and everyone we could see regardless of which menu they were on). We saw Koda and Kenai (from Brother Bear), Meeko (from Pocahontas), and Chip & Dale. I can't comment on the food, but the characters were friendly enough and the bears seemed enthused when we knew their names!

We just did Goofy's. The food was amazing! We loved it. A great mix of grown up food and kid food. Yes, there weren't a ton of characters. But, my daughter was scared so it was a great introduction to them without her being overwhelmed. She loved the napkin parade!

We did Surf's Up and Ariel's Grotto for breakfasts on our trip recently. While I wasn't overly impressed with the food (a few good things on the buffet at Surf's Up, but Ariel's Grotto was just meh - except our girls LOVED theirs, possibly because it involved syrup AND frosting, ha!) the character interactions were worth every penny! It was pretty crowded the week we were there so saving time meeting characters at breakfasts instead of standing in several extra lines in the parks was nice, especially with three little ones.

Thanks guys. What characters are 'usually' at the meals. I'm tempted by the storytellers cause I love Pocahontas but my friend is desperate for Minnie Mouse. My other friend wants the princesses but besides Aries who is usually there? I know they can change in just after an idea x

We went to Ariel's in May. They had Tiana, Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel & of course Ariel. The food was good and we had lunch. I felt rushed out of there & the picture opportunities were also rushed. After paying that kind of money for a princess meal I expected more time to take a picture with both me & my daughter but that didn't happen. It was a bad experience for us. We had more photo time taking pictures at fantasy fair & it was free. I've been to several character meals at WDW & loved them all. This was our worst experience. I should have listened to the reviews on trip advisor & yelp. If I were you, I would read the reviews before making a decision. Also, maybe lunch wasn't the best time to go?? Who knows... I hope your experience is magical like my others at WDW were.

We do Goofy's Kitchen every trip there is something everyone likes there (we do the dinner) last summer we did Ariel's and all though my DD loved the princesses the food was not great so we won't do that one again, and the rest are breakfasts ones and we aren't big on breakfast and usually stay somewhere with free breakfast so we haven't tried them

I have never felt rushed at any character meal. Ariel's when we went had Cinderella, Aurora, Snow white, and Bell, and Ariel. Plaza inn can have 8-12 characters. Story tellers was good when it had the menu. I loved the steak i ordered. How ever they now have only buffet. Goofy's kitchen I am thinking of trying again this year since we haven't been in about five years. I get mixed reviews that the foods good then that the food sucked. They used to have 7-10 characters but now only five. I wish they would leave things alone and go back to the way it used to be.

At Ariel's for lunch we seen snow white, belle, cinderella, and I think Aurora and at Goofy's we seen Genie chip and dale and minnie mouse can't remember who else and that was for dinner
