We just got back Monday night. We went for a long weekend because of the free dining plan and my DDs birthday and low airfare!

It was me and my 2 DDs ages 6 & 9 with 9 TS credits.

Friday night we ate at Sci-fi for the first time. They were way behind on ADR times and took us about 45 minutes late so we didn't make Fantasmic.

My two DDs shared the Mac and Cheese. They weren't impressed. My younger DD took one bit. I had a house salad and the steak and it was actually pretty good. I shared a bit with my older DD. I had the cheesecake and it was good. I think my older DD had the choc chip cookie sundae. The waiter put a candle on it for my younger DDs birthday. He took our picture.

The waiter was a bit rushed and he was friendly but it almost seemed fake. It was alright but we probably won't eat here again. Used 2 TS credits. I'd give it a B-

Saturday we ate lunch at the food court near Soarin. It was crazy crowded. The food looked better then it tasted. My older DD had the kids meal Sweet and Sour chicken and hated it. Too spicy. My younger DD had the make your own sandwich kids meal. Bread was hard but she ate the lunch meat. I had a salad with a leg or Rotissery (sp) chicken and the chicken was cold. I forgot to get desserts for each of us. Used 3 CS credits. I'd give it a B-

Saturday night we ate at Le Cellier at Epcot. The prezel bread sticks were amazing! I got the cheese soup as an appetizer but wasn't impressed. It was alright. I was looking forward to the Ribeye but it's been taken off the menu. I got the Prime Rib and it was quite yummy. My DDs shared the chicken tenders and fries. It was plenty. It was your typical chicken tenders and fries. I got the Maple Creme Brulee which was very good and my older DD got the Campfire S'mores and thought it was ok. The waiter told me they have a free dessert for my DD for her birthday that is moose but not the dessert shaped like a moose. I told him I'd pay OOP for the chocolate moose shaped dessert. He brought it out with Happy Birthday on it and he also brought out a phone and it rang and it was Goofy calling to wish my DD a Happy Birthday. That was a nice touch! I used 2 TS and paid OOP for the chocolate Moose about $5. I'd give it a A+

Sunday morning we ate at CRT at MK. We've eaten here about 3 or 4 other times. The food was the same. Pretty good. I like the French stuffed toast and the potatos. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the basket of pastries. My older DD likes the French Toast sticks but my younger DD wouldn't eat anything but I knew this going in. They were even more rushed then in the past but friendly enough. The waitress made sure we saw all the Princesses and offered to get us more food. She got my picky DD some white butter toast and crispy bacon. She brought my DD out a small birthday cake with a candle and a birthday certificate for the Princesses to sign. They were Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Wendy and Mary Poppins. We also saw Alice in the lobby. She was very friendly and fun. The Princesses weren't that friendly or talkative. We used 3 TS and would rate it A-

Sunday night we ate at Tony's at MK for the first time. This was a pleasant surprise. Loved the atmosphere and the waiters and waitresses were friendly and fun. They put Mickey shaped confetti all over our table for my DD birthday. I knew I only had 2 TS credits left but I had yet another meal the next day so I wasn't yet sure what I was going to do. Waitress said no problem...I can decide near the end. I was going to have my girls share but ended up letting them pick what they wanted. My older DD had the Spaghetti and meatball and my picky younger DD had the pizza. I got the NY steak. Then we realized eveyone had bread sticks but us. They were an appetizer but I thought they were free...so I didn't order them. I ended up ordering them and a salad for myself which came right before our food. Everything was very good. I decided to use one TS and save one for the next day. I would pay OOP for my two girls. Just then I saw a man across from us point to me as he was talking to his waitress. Thought he'd recognized me or something. Well, then my waitress comes back and tells me my meal is covered. That the man paid for my meal with his extra TS credits! I couldn't believe it! I thanked him a few times as he was leaving. It was so nice and special. Then I got the trio of dessert that they give to dining plan people. It was Mini Canoli (yuck), Tiramisu (Yum), and Cheesecake (ok). You cannot order dessert off the menu. My older DD didn't want dessert and they brought my younger DD a free dessert for her birthday. They announced it was her birthday and had everyone yell happy birthday while they twirled their napkins and then had them all blow her a kiss! Used NO TS credits and would rate it A

Monday morning we ate at the CBR food court and used 2 CS credits. It was alright. We got the choc Mickey waffle for me and the kids 2 small mickey waffles for my older DD and got my little DD a choc chip muffin. By this time, we've used all our snack credits but still had 4 CS credits and 2 TS credits for our lunch.

For lunch, we ate at PSB. This was our first time eating lunch there; we've had breakfast many times. We were hoping to see Ariel since it was my DDs birthday and her favorite princess and she's a red-head too! She was there!

I liked it. My DDs weren't that impressed with the food. I enjoyed the cold buffet and the lamb I ordered. My girls each got the turkey and cheese wrap with grapes. I really enjoyed the trio dessert with Choc moose, traditional rice pudding and Lingonberry Tart. They also brought my DD a special birthday viking hat shaped cookie and a birthday card signed by all the princesses. That was nice. The princesses were Ariel at the entrance only, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, and Snow White who was the best princess by far. Snow white was great. She talked and joked with my girls and asked them questions. We used our last 2 TS and paid for one DD OOP which was a total of $15. All in all it was a pleasant surprise. I'd give it a B+

So we used all our snacks, all our TS credits but not all our CS credits and we didn't always get the dessert with our CS credits...I wasn't sure how it all worked and didn't want to stress on vacation.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, mercy, your girls have grown since the last time I saw them!lol Has it been that long ago? Doesn't seem like it. Thanks for the reviews! We're going to try Sci Fi for the first time in November and I'm a little leery.

I know! They sure do grow fast, don't they?

I actually thought Sci-fi was better then some of the reviews I've read. I just didn't like my waiter I guess and that they were so behind on the seating times.

Hopefully, you'll like it!

I was sorry to hear that Tony's told you what dessert you had to have on the dining plan and not letting you order off the menu. (Or did I misunderstand?) Seems like this is a trend...

I wouldn't have bought the plan if I knew I'd be told what I had to order (other than published limitations).

Loved your reviews, they were very helpful and thank you for taking the time to write them.

Yes, I was a little bummed to. I would have picked the banana/choc creme brulee. I'm afraid it will be a trend but for my trip that was the only place that did that.

I'm glad I got to try the dining plan. Being a DVC member I may never get the opportunity again. It was nice to try it while it was free. Don't know if I'd pay for it because I found it hard to use up the counter services...

Hey beattyfamily. I was at The Storybook Lunch on Monday working. Glad to hear you enjoyed your experience. I saw your picture with Ariel and remember meeting your sweet little princesses. princess:

Really? Where were you? Did we speak to you? Thanks for the kind words.

I really did enjoy it much more then I thought I would. I also liked the food choices for my kids. I think Ariel is a great addition too!

I work with the princesses. ;) We love having Ariel there too. The night you were there it was a bit crazy because the whole Photopass area that you see Ariel in is new and took up a lot of room so there was not much table space left. It has been pretty crazy there since they redid the restaurant. But I am glad that you had a great time and I would like to eat there too because I always walk around the food and see it and smell it and think how good it looks!

oh, now I'm even more curious. Are you a close 'personal' friend of one of the princesses or are you one of their helpers? I did see a couple of helpers standing around making sure everyone got to see all the princesses.

I didn't realize that was one of the first days they had Ariel at the entrance. Is there a reason they decided to do that with her?

Someone finally posted a picture of Ariel with legs!! I was wondering what she looked like!! :teeth: Glad you had a great time and that's awesome about your free meal at Tony's. It looks like pixie dust is alive and well in WDW!! :wizard:

It was interesting to read about your experience at CRT. We were there for lunch about 10 days ago. My girls celebrated their birthdays (we went right in between them) there and they brought the cute cake, but nothing else. I was hoping that one of the princesses would come over and say something, but the certificate would have been really nice. We were disappointed in the interaction---extremely short and sweet and not great. Our food was good, but overall not the experience that all of us had hoped for---no magic involved.

We only were offered the trio also and yes the cannoli was yuck! I was taken back by this but the waitress said they were doing something new for the month. I checked the menu and sure enough all they had on it was family style assortment. I'm sure the minute the free dining is over they will revert!Stinks!

OH, I get it. So the only dessert on the menu was that one. I'm not so mad now (still sounds bad, but I don't feel as insulted). So if you were paying OOP, that would still be the only dessert available? We're not planning Tony's, I'm just worried that this might be a trend.

When did that change? We were there from Sept 1 to Sept 6. We ate at Tony's on Sept 2, and we (DH, DS10 and DS11 and I) ordered desert off the menu.

Was it just our waiter? BTW, Tony's is the ONLY place that asked about food allergies. I have an allergy to walnuts. I was thrilled they took the time to find out. I usually have to ask about desserts and appetizers.

I specifically asked the waitress if we were getting a different menu then the general public. I would have been mad. She said no, the trio of desserts was something new Tony's is trying. I checked the menu on the way out and sure enough it said trio of cannoli, tiramisu, and cheesecake served family style. My DD and I shared it. I asked her what would happen if there were three of us and she responded they would have added to it.The menu on ALLEARS is different so I was looking forward to that creme brulee too! Can't complain though, all and all it was great, I mean my dining plan was free, we would have paid at least $500 for the food we were served! I just wouldn't want to think there was a bait and switch going on because I don't like deception. I had the creme brulee in Canada and France! :goodvibes

I see ;) That's great! I know a 'friend' of Cindy's!! Well, could you tell her that she's very beautiful and nice!

Thanks!

I was going to eat at Tony's just for the banana creme brulee! Guess I'll be revising my ADR's.

I told Cinderella what you wrote and she said thank you very much. She always has a nice time visiting with everyone. And I told my best friend Snow White what you wrote about her too and she was flattered. I think she is wonderful as well. Thank you for your kind words. :goodvibes

Oh good, thank you for telling them! I appreciate it! ;)

I have a ADR again for lunch there on November 28 that I was thinking of canceling because we did lucky enough to do the lunch this past trip but I think I'm going to keep it now! I figure you can never see the princesses too much and my girls are growing so fast. I might as well do the character meals while they still enjoy them.

Our next visit in Nov/Dec we'll be there to celebrate my 40th birthday! I can't wait.

Thanks again. :wave2:
