We stayed at the Gouverneur on Ile Charron this past August. It was lovely....the furnishings in the room were a little outdated but the rest of the hotel was nice. It was only about 15 minutes from the Biodome, where we visited and then left our vehicle there and jumped on to the Metro subway to go to the Old City. Only 15 minutes in the other direction to most major restaurants. The hotel shares the island with a provincial park so we were constantly seeing deer and a family of raccons made visits every night. Hubby actually helped chase them from the pool area with the staff, who were very friendly. Pool was basic but clean and had a lifeguard. The only draw back was that it seemed the restaurant may have been run by a seperate company and we were not treated very nicely when we went into breakfast with the "free" breakfast coupons that we were "upgraded" to at check in.
