My 12 year old Son & I are headed to DW for our first trip - March 11 through the 19. For an extra special treat, I thought we'd try Narcoossees as it was about the only place I could find that had lobster on the menu.
Does anyone have any advice for me on this choice? Have they had the lobster (on the surf & turf entree) there? Is this restaurant really worth 2 TS? Are there ever any entrees on any of the menus that are not able to be ordered (at any of the restaurants) when using the dining plan?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We liked the food we had - but were disappointed that they had run out of whole lobsters when we ordered. What we did order was very nice and it was great being there when the fireworks were on and then seeing the water pageant.

Nice relaxed atmosphere though

We were at Narcoossees on January 6th on the Dining Plan. We really, really liked it. Nothing on the menu was off limits for the DP except for alcohol. However, our server recommended some NA drinks that we could get on the DP and they were great! We both had the Surf and Turf. We thought the lobster tasted good but the texture was rubbery when we thought it should more melt in your mouth. It was still good though. The steak was the best. Much better than the lobster. Great meal. Our server was wonderful. Very nice guy. We got to leave our table and go out on the deck to watch Wishes. They played alot of Frank Sinatra and other Jazz there...which I love. Overall, I thought it was great. We never would have gone with out the DDP so, it was worth it to us.

We ate there last August and it was the worst meal of the entire trip (18 days on DDP).
We were told by the waiter that the whole lobster was NOT covered by the basic DDP. We went with the surf and turf. Not only were ALL our entrees (4 people) a bit on the cold side, but the steak was NOT cooked to order on any of the plates. The lobster was chewy - rubbery and without any taste at all. We were there during the fireworks but did NOT see any of it, since we were seated on the elevated level and they just plopped our plates on the table, turned the lights down and our server wasn't seen again until after the fireworks. No way could we have gone outside to watch the fireworks.
We had the ice-cream sampler and two of the ice-creams were very odd tasting - one tasted like barbeque spice. The creme brulee was burnt as well. What a waste of TWO DDP credits each!
We have no intention of going back there.

DH and I ate there in July and then again in October. We love it! Both times we've had the same things - I had the seafood bisque, whole lobster and almond crusted cheesecake. DH had the crab cake appetizer, surf and turf, no dessert:scared1: just coffee.

We thought it was one of the best meals on property - I liked it better than California Grill. DH and I are planning on going back in June.

This is our favorite and we are sure to eat here everytime we visit the world. Totally worth the 2 TS credits! We visited in November and the lobster is part of the dining plan. The whole lobster is maine lobster and the surf and turf is warm water lobster - so it depends on what you like.

I had the filet, it was only ok. My husband had the whole lobster and loved it. Dessert was great as well, had the cheesecake.

HAS ANYONE EVER TRIED THE BRAISED SHORT RIBS ?????

We were on the Dinning plan and I ordred the Surf & Turf and loved it and loved the resturant & the beautiful view.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Your server was incorrect, it is on the DDP and has been since 2007 when we first tried it. If not, we managed to steal two whole maine lobsters from them :)

We learned some time later that the waiter was wrong - but this IS what we were told first thing! (not that I had ordered the lobster anyway, LOL)

Our dinner there in August was "just ok" for us. I had the whole lobster, and it was pretty tasteless. My dh had steak, which was cooked to order, but wasn't a fabulous piece of meat. We both felt that it was pretty noisy in there and it was, at times, even difficult to hold a conversation. Our server was very good, but the food wasn't good enough for a return trip.

We had dinner at Narcoossee's earlier this month. Everything was perfect...service and food. All six of us were happy campers.

we just ate there on New Year's Day. The restaurant is pretty simply decorated. I had the cheese plate which had such strong icky cheeses on it. I barely ate any of it. The cheese plate at France in Epcot was awesome! We both had the surf and turf on the dining plan. The lobster was rubbery and had a sourish taste. I did not enjoy it, and barely ate it. The filet was great, but most of it was a bit more rare than what i asked for. They did bring out another piece for me, but it had a lot of gristle in it. The almond crusted cheesecake, but it was just ok. Service was standard. I would not go to Narcoosee's again, but i thought it was just ok. For our other 2TS's we liked Artist Point, the service and food was wonderful. The Wilderness Lodge was very nice as well. Out of all the 21 places we ate at, Tutto Italia in Epcot was by far our favorite! and that is only 1 TS!!! it should be two. excellent everything at Tutto!

This is the only restaurant on our must do every trip list. We love it, I've had the whole lobster twice and loved it, DH gets one of the fish entries and really really enjoys it. We thought it was worth the 2 credits both times we went on the dining plan in 2006 and 2007. We won't be using the dining plan our next trip, but we are still going back because we enjoy it so much.

Agree very much with the other posters who thought the whole lobster was great, but the lobster on the Surf and Turf was not that good. The texture very different and did not taste fresh. The steak portion of the S & T was good also, but not the tail.

Would go again with the whole lobster or a steak...the almost crusted cheesecake is also very good. Good appetizer -- crab cakes.

Narcoossee's is a must do for us on every trip. We were just there last month and it was fabulous as always. I agree with the others that the lobster tail on the Surf and Turf entree is not as tender or flavorful as the whole Maine lobster. But it just depends on your tastes.

We have always had great service there and time our ADRs with Wishes. We ate there on our anniversary and received personalized menus and complimentary champagne!

We have yet to be disappointed and will always return- for DH and I, it's totally worth the 2 TS credits. Oh, and the almond-crusted cheesecake is to die for!
