Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Alarm bells went off in my head thinking that's not how that works, she must have just gone up there with someone else or something

I was thinking she either contacted someone on the social media team saying she wanted to do a comparison vlog or she whined to DSS how disappointed her family would be to not stay on TC. I’m not buying it was because Atrium Club was busy for spring break. We’ve stayed TC 4 times I think. I haven’t seen anyone coming up from Atrium Club, including on Christmas Day.

Ahhh could have been that too!

Funny so many of us saw it and thought it seemed strange 🤣

She also was there during spring break and was saying that tower was more crowded than usual which also made it less enjoyable.

The quote above from @Angehd2 was about the Tower CL being more crowded than usual. I doubt she got DSS or even the Social Media team to allow her use of both lounges unless she has a massive YouTube subscriber base.

After reviewing my comments in my previous post, she might have actually booked rooms on both the 12th floor and the 14th floor during her stay to give her the benefit of the doubt since I did not review the YouTube video.

I watched the video. I don’t think she booked 2 rooms. She had a resort view CL room which she showed several times. Sounds like her last trip, she lucked into being assigned to a resort view room on 14. She booked the same room category this trip & requested a room on 14 again but got assigned a room on 12. She was told TC rooms were all booked (meaning the 3 resort view rooms there) but they granted her an exception so she could use both lounges. She did say she saw several other people who had rooms on Atrium level that were also granted special access to tower Club. She might have made a comment about TC being a little busier because of that. When she was showing the TC balcony she said there’s always plenty of room out there because it’s not usually busy on 14. I’m thinking TC must have been almost empty if they were giving several groups access there.

Well that makes sense until we get to the how did she access the Tower CL floor if she had a room on the 12th floor? She would have needed (2) different Key cards coded one for each floor or use the stairs.

Did she happen to have a MB or (2). Story still has holes... to me.

For those inquiring minds- here’s a link to the video
She stated others also had access to both lounges (see around minute 13:30). She does say tower was less crowded than atrium but busier than usual.

There’s also a separate video on atrium from the same stay. See 0:48 where she discusses getting access to both clubs even though they were assigned a 12th floor room

It’s not common but it’s not out of the realm of possibility for a guest to have been given access to both for various guest recovery reasons or other unique situations.
my guess is they knew her from her vlogs and previous stays and were trying to be accommodating for her latest video review. Historically she has ranked tower club as the GOAT CL. This was the first video where IMO she wavered a bit.

I think I saw that same video and was questioning what she did! The YouTuber said something like she wanted to book tower club, but it was booked up and she put in a request for it and when checking-in they gave her access to both atrium and tower or something like that.

Exactly! My guess is she told them she was planning to do a review and they knew her from her videos. I was puzzled though when she said others had access to both lounges as well…

Ok - my mom and I are booked in a couple weeks for a 1 night pre cruise stay at GF. I've stayed once before back when they had sugar loaf (I believe it was called). It was over 10 years ago. I've never stayed in the main building. My mom has never stayed at the GF or CL so she's in for a treat. Neither of us are worried about the construction - that won't bother us.

I'm trying to figure out how we should spend our day. I know we want to use the lounge as much as possible. Maybe walk over to MK area and take the boat to WL. I LOVE Geyser Point and she's never been there. Or maybe walk over to the Poly?? Can you see the fireworks from the GF lounge? Thx!
I hope your stay is amazing!

You can’t see the fireworks from the 4th floor lounge, but if you go up to the 5th floor lounge area you can see them. We did that a few times and were always the only ones up there! My preference is to watch them front on front of Gasparilla’s, though, as that is a better view. I have never been to Geyser Point, but we always enjoy walking over to Poly. The new restaurant in their new DVC tower (name escapes me) was great. We like Trader Sam’s, also, though the process to get a table there is a pain.

My only thought is TC was almost empty & Atrium Club was at capacity. Management might have given access to TC to a few groups hoping to distribute guests a little more & relieve congestion in AC lounge. They already have CMs & a certain amount of food assigned for TC, may as well have enough guests use that lounge to make it worth it.

What time are you arriving? In my opinion - with your somewhat limited time and "first GF trip/first GF CL" I'd keep it GF-centric'ish. If you're arriving early and can do an early lunch then make the GF/MK/WL trek for Geyser Point, but if you're arriving more afternoon and later I think I'd lean just hanging around GF, enjoy the lounge, etc. The walk over to the Poly Island Tower is rather short, Wailulu is a decent lunch spot if inclined. Usually the wait is minimal to manageable mid-day, join the walk up wait list in the app whenever you're close enough to the restaurant it'll let you join (it's location based and pretty sensitive).

Enchanted Rose opens at 3:30pm, CL evening app service starts at 5pm. Can easily make an afternoon of it around property if inclined.

What is the "tea time / snack time at GF RPC ? We land at 12.45 on Saturday and I'm sure we're going to want snacks and a glass of wine (especially if the room isn't ready yet)

Hi all - I posted this in the main resorts section, but now I am thinking that we may do a CL stay. My DH and I will be visiting in January for a more low-key trip where we will actually be hanging at the resort and on the balcony a decent amount of time. Are there any CL resorts/room categories that I could choose that would guarantee us to have a water view and a full balcony? I was leaning towards YC, but I am not sure if any of their water view CL rooms face the pool. Any and all suggestions welcomed!

Fellow balcony-lover here, can speak from experience with most spots.

I don't personally find the YC or BC balcony situations all that appealing, personally. I mean, a water view is fine - there just are more interesting views/places to spend time, in my humble opinion.

A CR CL either TPV or Resort View room will guaranty a balcony and being on the 12th floor. With the lounge being TPV if you go with Resort View you have the best of both worlds - the lounge to face the MK/Seven Seas Lagoon and the room will face Bay Lake. Or a TPV room is also just as nice. I'm spending your money but you could consider some of the Tower Club/14th floor room options if inclined - those are above-standard size and pretty darn great for balcony relaxing.

IMO the "best balcony" award would go to Poly CL TPV, third floor. It's got the full package - quiet setting with the Poly soundtrack playing in the background, water and MK views, all the action and kinetic energy of the Seven Seas Lagoon, people watching, etc. The only slight problem is with the TPV room category you can get a second floor room which doesn't have a balcony - just a normal balcony sliding door. I have 'mostly' had success with requesting a third floor room over time, but it's not guaranteed so there's a small risk. Frankly when I did have a second floor room I found myself thinking "this isn't as bad as I thought it would be" since you can still open up the full size balcony door and enjoy some air, but if your mind is dead set on a balcony, weigh your feelings with this one.

Folks have mentioned the BWI deluxe rooms.

No particularly noteworthy room views at WL, IMHO. I mean, they are fine, just not sit around and enjoy all day type of views. The dormer balconies aren't ideal for extended balcony time.

GF CL would get you a balcony and some decent views among the different categories. I'd rate GF CL as a "decent" balcony hotel option, but I'd personally put it a touch below CR and Poly.

January can be a tricky weather month since it can be cold (or it can be plenty warm!) - I do tend to lean more towards the more self-contained resorts in the cooler months (CR, GF, BWI, etc) and less so places like Poly which IMO is a better warm weather resort, but I'm slicing it pretty thin with that observation.

Sorry for the ramble, have fun whatever you decide!

I need others to chime in/confirm/overrule but I thought we had determined those posts about the return of the CL tea time from a few weeks ago turned out to be a one or limited time thing and not something that has actually returned, I think.

So, they've done away with the soup / scones / snacks that they set out mid-day?

I knew the tea trays were a trial of sorts but I thought there was something beyond packages of chips around lunch time

Ahh, sorry, misinterpreted your post. Afternoon snacks end at 4 if I'm not mistaken. Will let others who have been more recently chime in on the latest offerings. :-)
