Hi!
My hubby and I always make it a point to stop at ESPN for a relaxing break and enjoy a game.
The food is good and the last time I was there in April 08 we were suprised by no request of of our own and treated to the VIP seats right in front of the big screen which are two leather LazyBoy reclining chairs and got to eat our dinner off of TV trays. That was so cool!!!!
Tell me about it!!! I was so suprised! As we followed the waitress into the dining area, she led us to this roped off area right in front of the big screen. Insided of this boxed off area surrounded in red rope are the two LazyBoy chairs. At first I guess I didn't know what she was doing so when I asked her what she was doing she said you are our VIP's and can sit here and enjoy the game.
This happened to be the very first night of our trip and just traveled to ESPN straight off of the plane from the Orlando airport. We got to ESPN about 10am or so at night but the placed was still packed. There were other 2 person couples ahead of us in line so I have no idea why they picked me and hubby to sit in the VIP chairs. However, it really made our night!
Do we have to make reservations at all? Or is it just walk in?
We have never been before. However, we will be arriving at WDW on Saturday, October 11. We are huge LSU fans (born and raised in south Louisiana until 2002) and they play Florida that night. We have to watch the game! It starts at 8 PM so we hoped to watch it there. We have ADR at House of Blues for 6:30. We hope to get out of there and over to ESPN Club as fast as possible. Do we have to eat there? Or can we just go to watch the game and snack as needed? I know that the game will be broadcast nationally on CBS so we can always watch it in our room. We would prefer to see it on a big screen, though.
We have dinner reservations at 6:30 at House of Blues. It will be our first time to eat there, and we are really looking forward to it. The menu has some cajun/Louisiana dishes that we are really excited about trying. (We definitely miss Louisiana food!) The game starts at 8 PM. Therefore, we will not be able to make it to the ESPN Club early.
Maybe we should just go back to the room and not even try.I was picturing it to be like the Diversions lounge on the Disney cruise. Just a lounge area with chairs, TVs, and a place where you can just sit and watch the game........buy snacks, drinks, etc. whenever you want to. I guess this is more of a restaurant and not really a lounge. Is that more correct?
I am sure it will be crowded for the LSU vs. Florida game. That is a big game. We will not make it there early enough to beat the crowd.
Madalex,
What is it about their food that you do not like? The food there is typical menu fare for Disney so I do not expect mind blowing selections but I've never had anything there that was horrific so far.
I tend to view the food selections at ESPN as good 'ol game food which is the intention of a place like this.
