I am going to rate the dining experiences 3 ways

T=Theming
Q=Is food quality
V=Was is worth the money

Lunch @ Mythos

DH husband had the Shrimp Alfredo Pasta. I had the Chicken Club Sandwich. This was not a traditional club that I am used to (toasted and cut in 4's) it came on a bun. This is really a neat place, and I think if our waitress would have had more personality I would have enjoyed it even more. I know I read on the boards to be sure and check out the restroom but I did not see anything exciting in there....

T =A+, Q=B, V = A

Dinner @ Margarittaville

DH had the Cheeseburger in Paradise and 2 margaritas, I had the Coconut Shrimp and we split the Crab Dip and Chips. I was so disappointed in the atmosphere, I just thought it and the Volcano (which did not go off while we were there) would be so much larger and fun.

T= C(very disappointed), Q= A+, V = A+

Lunch @ Comic Strip Cafe

We each ordered the Dragon Special from the Chinese food booth. It consisted of 2 entrees (small portions) rice and an egg roll. We each had the beef and broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. This is def not a highlight of the trip but we just wanted something fast and easy as we had reservations and Emerils that night.

T= C, Q= C, V= D

Dinner @ Emerils

DH had the Pork Chops with caramelized sweet potatoes and veggies, I had the Santa Fe Chicken with black beans. For dessert we had Caramel Apple Cheesecake (out of this world) and Berry Crème Brulee. The best part of the meal was the cheesecake. The meal was good and the service was outstanding (although I think the waiters escorting everyone to the restroom was a bit much). DH loved it here and we will be returning each year.

Lunch at Finnegan's

DH had the Potato and Leek Soup, Bangers and Mash I had the Corned Beef sandwich on pretzel bread. They also bring each table some yummy soda bread and apple butter. This was a nice place to take a sit-down and enjoy lunch. It was not the greatest meal I even had, but it was nice.

T= C, Q= B, V=B

Dinner @ Motown Cafe

DH had the Sampler Platter and a Salad and I had the Crispy Chicken Salad. This is really a neat place. They had Diana Ross and Michael Jackson impersonators plus lots of Motown Memorabilia and great Motown songs and performance clips playing and all of the TV's.

T=A, Q=A, V=A

Lunch @ Hard Rock Cafe

We have Hard Rock in Pittsburgh so the theming here was not a big deal for me, but if you have never been to one, it is def a lot of fun. We both had steaks fries. DH had a cup of chili too and he hated it. It had big chunks of beef and chicken in it. For dessert we split this HUGE piece of choc cake and we could not even finish it.

T= B, Q= A, V=B

Thank you for your reviews!! I usually stick to my usually spots which include Hard Rock Cafe and...well, that's pretty much it. :p I've tried MArgaritaville and thought the same thing about the atmoshpere. The theming was OK...but I felt the volcano was too hidden where it was...too bad you missed the volcano go off...it usually does every hour.

I think I may venture out to mythos....hmm...

and the bathroom comment made me laugh...I never heard people say anything about the bathroom at mythos (must have missed it) but it just made me laugh. What kind of excitement should one expect at the bathroom?? :confused:

:smooth:

Thanks for sharing the reviews. Escorts to the bathroom at Emeril's???? Wow, that is a bit much. Do they wait until you finish???? That would be weird.

Now FlyFly, you know you cant go to Mythos. You would have to leave Universal and go to the Islands of Adventure. I think the bathroom service may be a little much. I hope they don't do that at Tchoup chop, I'd feel a little paranoid about someone waiting outside the stall listening for me to finish. I bet a lot more people wash their hands that way though.

Oh yeah...I can't do that...I may have to leave my spot at the Ghostbusters Show...:eek:

Now, I absolutely love the theming at Margaritaville. It is so relaxed and cool, and my kids loved watching the volcano go off and singing the song. ( yes, Mom does play Jimmy in the car all the time, lol)

I can't wait to try Mythos, it sounds great. Although, I hate bananas, so I can't try that dessert everyone raves about. In New England they do the warm gooey chocolate cake, but they do it with raspberries - YUM!!!

I should clarify that by "escort to the restroom" I meant the outside of the restroom door, not in the actual bathroom. One really nice thing I forgot to mention about emerils was that in the restroom they had cups and a mouthwash dispenser.

You rated Emeril's the same as Finnegan's? Finnegan's must be really good!

As for Margaritaville, we really loved the place. We weren't looking for theming though but a chance to escape from the parks so it may have worked better for us.

Thanx for the fab reviews.

We ate in Mythos last summer and absolutely loved it ~ Hoping to eat at Mythos again on the nite of November 2nd, when we are at the HHN.

Planogirl,

I really enjoyed the food and Finnegans. Emerils would have been rated higher if it were not so heavy on all the sauces and fu fu on all the food. Does that make sense? Also by the time we ate at Finnegans, we had been eating out at least twice a day for over a week,...you know how you start to get sick of everything....Finnegans was just diff than anything we had been eating.

Mmmmm....good reviews there. I like the way you categorised them. We ate quite alot at Finnegan's as the children enjoyed the soda bread to start and Irish Stew. If I remember - the desserts were rather good too....old-fashioned puddings like your mum used to make and fresh cream gateauxs!

Agree with Fly fly...most nights we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, also Marguerittaville.
