Reviews of Thunder Ranch BBQ

Thank you for the pics, looks yummy!

Question - what is the souvenier cup that they advertise on the menu?

Im sure its the same souvenier cup they have throughout the park. A large plastic cup usually with a disney character lid of some kind.

Highly recommend it. Cheapo that I am I can do without the corn on the cob and save the money. Plus, as I said to our waiter, you can eat til you barf. Ribs are good, entertainment great and you don't have to eat the rest of the day.

If you eat 'till you barf, you will have room to eat more. ;)

I have the recipe too. Here it is:

Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue Cole Slaw
Serves 6 to 8

1/2 cup white-wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)
1 pound shredded purple cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)
2 carrots, shredded

  1. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne in a blender; blend on low speed until sugar is dissolved.
  2. With blender running, slowly pour oil through top of lid, processing until dressing is combined. Set aside.
  3. Combine shredded cabbage and shredded carrots in a separate large bowl. Add dressing, tossing to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours, tossing occasionally, before serving.

Thanks! I just printed this out. Do Disney chefs give out recipes upon request, or do you have an inside source?

We love BTRBBQ. I am a vegetarian, and the veggie options is tasty. You need to tell the waiter ASAP that you want the veggie option as they have to cook it after you order. I love the skewers that they bring out.

They used to box up what was left at your table when you were done, but people started abusing that and ordering extra, then boxes. We just didn't want what we had already on the table to go to waste, especially when they brought me a second order of skewers!

We have never had dessert there, but it looks awesome.
We did share the table with another couple last year, they were awesome!

I am very much looking forward to our trip back this fall and our dinner there. It is one of the best meals we have while in the park (DH loves it).

I got this off a Disney blog sometime last year. No inside source, alas.

If you ever want a recipe, try Googling it. You'd be surprised what's floating around Out There.

I have been desperate to try this place since it opened. I really look fwd to this meal when we go next month. It's something me and my husband, both will enjoy (which isn't often). My 5-yr old is the only one who won't appreciate it, with the exception of the baked beans.

This looks a lot like the WDW Hoop Dee Doo Revue meal - which we like. Same sort of presentation - the buckets, and all you can eat.
