How is Raglan Road anyone eaten there??!! Thanks,,

We had dinner at Raglan Road on Wednesday night, at 7:00 PM.
We were seated right away, it started out good.
It took awhile for our server to show up, But she quickly took our order for drinks (Ice Tea) and appetizers. I got the drunk chicken, Mike got grilled scallops.
It took awhile to get those. We got our drinks and wondered about getting bread (We noticed the bread baskets on other tables)appetizers were good..
Almost a hour from the time we arrived we got our dinner, I had Serious Sirloin Steak and Mike had Pan Fried Lemon Sole and Chips ,The food was good, But nothing exceptional. I was hoping for more I guess. BTW,The Soda bread was served after our main course came....

Desert was good, I had Creme Brule'(yummy) and Mike had the bread and butter pudding. Not to brag but Mike said my bread pudding is much better..(Recipe anyone? LOL)
It took over 2 hours for dinner because the service is so slow, Think we will pass on this place next visit..
On a 1 - 10 scale I give it a 6.5

That's a nice, thorough review.
The best I can offer is this:

I like to sit there for a long time and listen to the music and watch Danielle dance, so I don't really notice the wait.
I enjoyed the Guinness and the fish and chips VERY much.

I've been happy there every time we've gone.

I just copied this from my dining reviews from May 5-12.

The other place I was really looking forward to was Raglan Road. Its gotten mixed reviews on the boards so I told my family I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well we all had great meals and a wonderful night. Our reservations were for 8:00. We got their a little early and checked in and got called. I didn’t want to sit right away as I didn’t want to feel like we had to leave before the music started. My DH told them we really wanted to be there for the band and she said. Oh then wait a little because I have you in the room away from the band. So we wait another 5 minutes and get brought to our table – Right in front of the band! We were afraid they would be too loud for mom and dad but they loved it.

So on to the food. DH and I got the scallop forest to share and mom and dad both got the drunk chicken. The chicken was a little dry, but the scallops were yummy (but really not enough scallops for the price.) Dad got the fish and chips which he loved, mom got the sesame seed haddock, which when it came out she made a funny face at, but when she tasted it she said it tasted much better than it looked. DH got the steak which was ok and I got the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder. At first it was ok but once again, once the flavors mixed it was really good. The mussels were too big for me to eat but there was plenty of other fish and scallops to eat instead. Dad and DH had pints of Guiness and I had the beer flight. I liked the Smithwicks (?) the best so I ordered a pint after I finished the flight. They all had irish coffee after the meal. For dessert mom and dad both got an apple pie/tart thing and DH and I split the sampler. It had the bread and butter pudding, the dunbrody kiss and I think a cheesecake thing. OMG! I would just come back here just for the dessert. It was fantastic! Just before our desserts came, the band began to play and we had a great time singing and clapping along. This was definitely a great night.

Haley Whippet, we had the same experience as you. Very poor service, and average food. We have decided not to return either.

My advice to the OP is make your own judgement. Take peoples comments for some direction but try it and see what you and your family think.

Have a wonderful trip!

Ate there a week ago on a Friday night. We were LATE for our ADR, by 15 minutes. They sat us right away even though there was a LONG wait for walk ins. Also, the service started off slow but after our waiter finally came, all was good. DH had the Guiness and I had the Irish Sangria....can't remember the name. Liked it alot. We had the scallop forest which we thought was great...the scallops were huge and the dipping sauce was YUMMY while not over powering the scallops.

For entree, DH had the Kevin's Ham and I had the It's Not Bleedin Chowder. I now have dreams about that dish. WOW. Both of us loved our food.

We didn't have dessert but we did have the bread with a VERY interesting dipping sauce that was sweet. Overall a good experience.

We ate here for lunch in January. It was a very nice experience. Food was good, restaurant is pretty inside. It wasn't crowded at all. We're planning on going back.
