reviews of ESPN

No ADRs. The food is much better than you would think it would be. Great nachos.....almost a meal in themselves. And the chicken sandwich is excellent. Especially fun for sports fans like us, but the good food was a pleasant surprise.

Just ate there on Saturday. No there don't take ADR's ahead of time. We got there around 5:30 and it was already crowded (college football games on) and we would have had to wait a while if we wanted a table or both. We saw an open tall table with stools in the bar area and were able to take that.

The food was very good. We were on the dining plan. There were 3 adults and we had nachos, which were the best, chicken strips were okay and the chili, however, DH did not care for. For entrees we had chicken caesar salad, hot dog and root beef sandwich. Dessert was chocolate cake to go and ice cream.

This was our 3rd trip to this restaurant. We enjoy it!

We loooooooove ESPN Club. It's one of our Top 3 favorites by far and I dream of the day (22 days in fact!) I can have my wings, slider burger, and pie! lol

The food is pretty good for what it is, but don't go expecting a quiet meal. Especially during football season. This is the one place that could probably make WCC seem sedate.

We have never liked ESPN food until last fall. We gave it another try with friends and everything was fantastic..the food was quite good for bar food. We will return.

ESPN Club is a must do for my DH, however, I can take it or leave it. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant but some of the food is hit or miss with me. Two years ago, I had their chili/cheese hot dog which was excellent but this past June I had a fish sandwich that I wish I had never ordered. My kids love the place as well and they only get the chicken strips....they also love how there is tvs in the bathrooms, so we always have to go in at least once while there.

We loved it and we're definately going back on our next trip. I have a full review with a couple of pics (just the appetizers, including the dinner-sized nachos) in the dining report link that's in my sig.

ESPN is a great place to watch a game and enjoy a few drinks and appetizers or a burger. If nachos and burgers are what you're looking for or if the game is your main objective you should be happy with ESPN.

If you want more variety I would go someplace else.

We had a party of 12 there to watch a college game last fall and hated everything we had there besides the burgers and the nachos. We didn't like the wings (but then we live near Buffalo so I won't hold that against them). A few people in our group had the special of the night and somebody else got fish I think. There were a few other dishes which I can't remember. The food was over-done, cold and overall just bad. To make matters worse, our server was terrible. She mixed up orders and was really slow. It took us almost 20 minutes to get our empty pitchers re-filled. Every once in a while you will get a bad server but after waiting an hour to get in and stopping at McDonald's afterwards because people needed something to eat after we left, I will not be too anxious to go back there.

I've eaten at many Disney restaurants and for me, this one is at the bottom of my list.

I always get these as my meal. They are the best nachos anywhere! ;)

Hi,

You said that you got cake & ice cream to go. Do you know if they have the nacho's to go? We love them, would love to pick some up for a late night snack????

I tried to call & ask but they never pick up their phone. Does anyone know if you can get a "to go" order from ESPN?? Thanks Nancy in CT

Terrible food, even for a sports bar. I have been on several occasions, but after the last bad meal it is now on my "never again" list.

We love ESPN Club. They did change the menu last year and took some favorites off, like the tuna pita sandwich, but there are still some good picks, like the wings, nachos, clam chowder, fries, chicken sandwich (not the way it is on the menu, that just looks too 'fancy' for a sports bar) and other items. The hot dog is obnoxiously huge and really sickening, in a good way...kind of. We go there at least once every trip but then again we are huge sports lovers.
Oh and the pitchers of beer have the cool ice things in middle of them that keeps the pitchers cold!

And to PP who asked when they are turning DQ into ESPN Zone - I hope the answer is never! We have been to ESPN Zone in NYC and it's nothing like the ESPN Club, ESPN Club is such a better atmosphere IMHO...

We have gotten full meals as take out a few times while staying at BWV to bring back to the room. You need to order it at the bar.

The food is OK, the atmosphere is fun but noisy. The nachos are definitely the best thing I"ve had there. And they are an entire meal. I cannot imagine eating them as an appetizer unless the whole table was sharing.

Someone mentioned they were on the dining plan in an earlier post. Is ESPN zone part of the dining plan?

ESPN is part of the dining plan. My boys and I ate there March 2006. Horrible service, but my kids L*O*V*E the hot dogs. We returned in March 2007 and despite my begging to please eat somewhere else, we ended up at ESPN. The food was great and the service wonderful. :thumbsup2
It is a must do for every trip. At least the ones with the kids.

ESPN has always been a hit or miss with us. But since the good outweighs the bad we always go back and give it another shot. The first time we went I fell in love with the BBQ sandwhich and that was all I could talk about and I honestly craved it. Went back on another trip and it wasn't so good. Gone was the big hoagie style bun only to be replaced by some type of plain blah bun. Gone was the bbq sauce that made my tastebuds scream with joy only to be replaced by bbq sauce that made my tastebuds slouch and pout.

My DH is a chili fan and will try chili everywhere that we eat so of course he had to get it at ESPN. He loved it the first time and it scored a touchdown in his eyes, with the point after. Second trip it was a major fumble and he didn't like it. The next trip it was back to being close because it was in the red zone but only warranted a field goal, it has yet to score a touchdown again. :sad2:

The club sandwhich is really good but you really can't mess up a sandwhich with sliced meats and cheeses unless you really work on messing it up. And the nachos are really good as is the kids' hot dog. The chicken fingers are pretty much just like what you get in the parks or at a place like Fridays or Chili's.

We always go partially for the atmosphere and because even if you need a potty break you can still watch the game from the stalls. I found this out when my DH was MIA for about thirty minutes until there was a break in a few of the games that he was watching.

It does get busy, crowded and loud in there when there are games going on and you can expect some gently ribbing from opposing fans if you are wearing team specific clothing. I will say that I hate those little bitty round tables that are supposed to be big enough for four people. When there are four plates and four glasses on those tables you are lucky if you can find room for you flatware. But it can be a fun place to eat, especially for the sports buffs. If you are going to eat on a game day you should try to make sure that you get there early enough to snag a table or plan on waiting for awhile.

Will I eat there again? Yes. Will I go out of my way to eat there? Nope.
