My cousins are going to WDW in about 2 weeks. They have reservations at the Garden Grill. Neither they or I know what it's like. What kinds of food do they serve? Lots of salad? Does it rotate fast? It the food good? I need to know! :confused3

We were there in June and it was a great. Everything is served family style and you can ask for more. You start with a salad and then they bring out veggies, flank steak, cat fish and turkey and potato's. We had plenty of charactor interaction.

We just dined there on Saturday night. It was great, steak, catfish, turkey, veggies, really yummy mashed potatoes-they do serve salad and really good bread before the main platter is brought out. You can ask for more of anything you want and they will be happy to bring it to you! Everything right down to desert was delicious and we will be back on our next trip. You asked about how fast the restaurant rotates-not fast, it gives you a nice change of scenery throughout your meal.

This is my kids favorite character meal. The food is good. The character interaction is good without being chaotic like Chef Micky's. We took lots of great pictures. The characters came to our table twice while we were dining.

ok... silly question...

my friends and i are eating here as well... would they think i was a big baby if i asked for the kid's choices as well?

Terrific spot for kids and adults. Quiet (in comparison to most character meals) and great interaction. We have gone there the past two years and will be there again this year.

Not silly to me and I'm 34. :teeth:

I don't prefer it when they pre-plate stuff out and bring it to me because I'm a very picky eater and if something I don't like is touching something else, it bothers me. DH thinks I'm nuts.
So, in answer to your question, yes! I asked for and received kids' chicken strips and fries from the kids menu and they happily brought it out to me. DH and I shared the dessert plate though. It's okay for them to touch. :teeth:
One of the best character interactions here! Since it's just a big circle, they can't get sidetracked. We must have seen each character 3-4 times. Pluto even sat at our table for a minute and insisted on licking my face for a picture. And we were without the kids.

i'm the same way... and thanks for the info... :teeth:

The Garden Grill is one of our families favorites. We eat there at least twice each trip.....If I could make a suggestion.....Take the tour downstairs from the Grill (forgot the name), before you eat. It makes the meal more enjoyable knowing and seeing were some of the food is coming from.

The Garden Grill is one of the most underrated restaurants in all of Disneyworld. If you have the chance, go there!!!

We always wanted to try this restaurant- thanks for all the comments. Whenever we passed through the building to get to Soarin' we saw that the restaurant was never overly crowded and hectic like the other Epcot restaurants. Of course it may be different now that Soarin' is so popular. So the veggies you eat are the ones that are shown in The Land ride? Like the mickey head-shaped cucumbers?
