Flew with Airtran from MN to FL with a plane change in Atlanta. Once again service was excellent. Upgraded at the 24 hour mark from coach to business class. You get 2 free checked bags with business class so when you compare that, along with seat fees for preferred seating, the upgrade only cost $19 (add in the cost of a glass of wine and the upgrade was only $13,
).
Slight problem on the return trip (not Airtrans fault, mother nature). Terrible storms, including tornadoes, coming back into Minneapolis. We were descending to land and then all of the sudden were pulling up after an unexpected drop. Knew this wasn't right, lol... Airport was temporarily closed. We circled for 45 minutes and then got diverted to Rochester, MN. Airtran did allow passengers to get off the plane after we were grounded for about 30 minutes, however if they did the were required to pay for their own way back to Minneapolis as they did think we would be grounded for too long. They also could not get the checked luggage out so you were responsible to go to the Minneapolis airport to pick it up. 20-25 people did get off, all with only carry-on luggage. Airtran was great with getting refreshments out to passengers right away and the restroom lines never were very long. We lifted off after be ground for about 1hr 15 minutes with a nice, calm ride into Minneapolis.
Utilized FL Tours for 2 scheduled trips: to/from the airport to the BCR and to/from Aquatica at Sea World. Very professional and on-time drivers as I have experienced in the past. Were able to move-up our scheduled pick-up time from Aquatica as we did not stay as long as we thought we would. Would highly recommend them as I have in the past.
Also utilized taxi/cab service a few times from the BCR to parks, and DTD. Once again, professional and courteous drivers with no issues.
Any questions on any of the above, or Disney transportation (buses, monorails and boats) please let me know, just returned from an 11 day trip.
