Hi all...just back. we had some good meals:D

First off..let me say Chefs de France is my new favorite! We ate dinner here and each had the "Tour de France" We're not that inventive, I guess, to order anything else. The French onion soup is delicious! I don't even like onions and I ate the whole bowl!!! Sooooo good. The chicken cordon bleu was so-so. A little dry and bland. The creme brulee was wonderful. You must try this place sometime! Atmosphere:A Service:A Food:A-

The Plaza Restaurant was good. We tried a lunch here right when they opened without PS and got seated right away. We shared a Reuben sandwich. I honestly thought after reading how big the sandwiches here were that it would be bigger. I would say it is slightly larger that normal but not BIG:p It is a small restaurant...not much seating space inside. Atmosphere:A- Service:C (he was a not so good waiter) Food:A

'Ohana is great. We ate here for dinner with a large group and it was handled great. The food was hot and delicious. The servers were fun. A+ all around! If you enjoy grilled meat and veggies, you must try this place!

Teppanyaki in Japan also had our large party of 20. We split into 2 tables and it worked fine. The food was good. I was really hoping for fried rice instead of steamed, and the waitress seemed annoyed by my children's lack of eating the food. Not very kid friendly on our visit. Atmosphere:A- Food:B Service:B- We would eat here again, though!

Cinderella breakfast how can you go wrong??? The food was great. the service was great. The atmosphere is magical.. A+'s all around.

we tried Chef Mickey's for the first time on this trip. Let me start off by saying as a general rule I do not like buffets. This was good!! Our kids loved it. They liked it so much we went for breakfast on our last morning! Atmosphere:B Food:A- Service:A

If I remember any more big restaurants, I'll post. We did the Luau and enjoyed it alot. Any questions??? My advice for those with lack of priority seats is to show up at opening (usually 5:00 for dinner or 11:00 for lunch) and you can get right in. It worked so well we started doing that even if our PS were for 6:00! Too many restaurants...too little time!

Great reviews Tinks - thanks for sharing.

I seem to be reading a lot about Teppanyaki and the waitress' attitude to their customers, kids espeically hmmmmm. But yup you just gotta love the food here :)

Sounds like a good trip! Thanks for sharing. :)

Enjoyed your reviews.

Glad to hear someone else didn't find the sandwiches so huge at the Plaza. I love that reuben but it seems fairly typical in size? Which is just fine with me!

Thanks for the reviews!

I am planning on trying 'Ohana for the first time in October, before MNSSHP!

Thanks for the reviews! Sounds like you had some good meals. I have to get to Ohanas one of these days.

Thanks for the reviews. :)

I'll be having dinner at Chefs De France with some friends in a couple of months, I'm glad to hear it is a great place. :)

Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you enjoyed Chefs De France - I know it gets alot of mixed reports on the boards but we have eaten there on several occassions and always had a wonderful meal.

Thanks for the reviews! We plan to visit Ohana on our 1st night, with a group of 9. Where was your large group seated? Is there a good place to request to be "in the middle of the action", or should we request a table with a view?

May I ask a question? How was your large group seated at Ohana? Were you at different tables? We are going next week and they had to split our PS to two tables. Any tips for getting them close to one another?

Thanks for the reviews.......we are eating at several of the places you reviewed this July, so it's good to read updated reviews! I do have a question about the rice at Teppanyaki........do they not have fried rice at all on the menu??? That is my kids favorite part of a "japanese" meal and they will be disppointed if there is only white, steamed rice available. Thanks for your help!

Denise

Hi there.. great reviews,

Can you do a review on the Spirit of Aloha Luau..?

(ie) where you sat, service, appetizers, dinner, dessert & show details.. do they have a full bar? Did your kids like it?

I have it booked for August, thanx

Hi again!! I'll try to answer some questions....

1. Basketlacey...We made PS at 'Ohana for 7:30 in the evening hoping to catch the fireworks....turns out there were no fireworks that evening:rolleyes: , go figure. There were 20 in our party and they sat us all at one long table in the center section of the restaurant. They said they could seat us by the window but it would be a longer wait so we said no. Initially, when I made the PS, they said we would most likely be split into 2 tables...but we were all together and it was great!!

2.DRoseball...I had a cranky baby the night we went to Teppanyaki and I made the assumption that they cooked fried rice with the meal like they do at Benihana....wrong! I imagine they could easily do fried rice for you...and I would have ordered it if I had seen that the rice that comes with the meal was just steamed. You'll enjoy it.

3. Cass...the service at the Luau was very good. We were again with our party of 20 and they had us at one long table just off center in the front, plus 4 of us sat right next to it in the front at another table. The earlier you book the Luau, the better seats you get so plan accordingly! FYI, I think we booked in late Feb or March for our May trip. We had great seats. The appetizer came right away and was salad, fruit, and sweet bread. The drinks included with your meal are white and red wine, beer, and soda, coffee.....if you want a mixed drink or a tropical drink it's extra and those drinks are on the pricey side ($9 -$10). The main course is chicken, ribs, and veggies. The kids can have mac - n - cheese or chicken nuggets. The dessert was a "volcano" made from some kind of custard??? with chocolate "lava." It was good. The show was fun. They follow a typical Disney storyline. Halfway through they called up the kids to do a "hula." Our 11 kids loved it! We never heard a complaint out of them the entire show! They range form age 10 all the way down to 1.( and most of the kids were boys!!!) After the main course they have more traditional polynesian dances, including fire dancing which my boys were mesmerized by. It's a good show. I recommend to see it at least once to say you've gone.:) Have fun!

Whoops! Disneyfan551, I missed your question!!!! I would say if the MK fireworks (FIS) are on the night your eating at 'Ohana then I would request a table with a view. Plan to make your PS for around 7:30?? then if you have to wait for a table you'll have plenty of time to eat and enjoy the fireworks. I understand they pipe in the music for the show...that would be neat! Anywhere you sit at the restaurant will be in the action. There are also tables closer to the fire pit where the chefs are cooking...if you were interested in watching them? With our large group, we were interested in talking to eachother and not much else, although the kids liked doing the hula hoop and liked the coconut races too. Have fun!

Thanks for the great reviews. We love Chefs De France also, have never had a bad meal there. We did the Luau this past Dec. and loved it, we thought the show and food were great.
