Reviews and pictures from AKL?

My family is going to disney for the FIRST TIME EVER.. and were staying at AKL in the savannah view room. I am trying to see how people like/dislike it there, the pros and cons and so on. Also if anyone has pictures that would be great. Thanks alot

We just got back from AKL this Saturday and we loved it! It is beautifully decorated, the cast was very friendly, and we had great bus service. We also loved the zero entry pool as we have a 3year old and he could play while we sat on the lounge chairs. I think that you'll really love the resort.

Our family adored AKL. It is one of our top two resorts. We will stay there again and again. At the time we traveled, I had three boys ages 10, 8 and 6...each one of them LOVED AKL as did my husband and myself. It was our second stay at AKL, the second of many more to come. You can read the details in my trip report (follow the link in my signature). It is the 2007 trip report. Our time at AKL starts at post #30 and goes from there. We stayed in a savannah view room, in the club level section. We also did all of the bead activities, the boys did the kid's Bush Camp and stayed at Simba's Children's Club, played in the pool, ate at the Mara and dh and myself did the safari at AKL combined with the dinner at Jiko...so tons of pictures and reviews of all of that are to be found. We too are considering AKL. We weren't even considering it until my ds 3 was watching the disney website and saw the animals and he has got my dh convinced we have to stay there. My dh wants to go all out with deluxe dining, club level and savanna view. The trip was originally suppose to be a budget trip for the children and I but whenever he gets factored into the travel plans the budget goes out the window.

I am so jealous!!! We wanted to spend the first few nights of our trip in May there, but all they had left were std. view rooms.

We did spend one night there 2 years ago and I have been bursting to go back for a longer stay. I loved it there. I am a big animal lover and I would be very happy with just spending the day hanging out on my balcony and around the hotel. I also enjoyed the pool area. My DH wasn't exactly thrilled with it and has never given me an exact reason why.

I was surprised that I enjoyed the decor as much as I did because I normally don't like dark things, but I thought it was absolutely beautiful. Very calming and restful. Our room was very quiet. We never heard our neighbors or people in the hall. It was extremely clean and well kept.

Maybe I can take some time during our trip to "go visit" for a few hours.

261 days left, man i can wait. I also just got back from Disneyland, it was OK, but i think Contemp makes it all worth while.
