Review of Rapunzel's Royal Table?

Will they tell you in the navigator if it is "thug" night or "lantern" night earlier that day? I have snuggly duckling t-shirts for my family for thug/pub takeover night and a flynn ryder costume for my son for Lantern night so I am hoping I will know in advance!
If you're on a 6 nt or longer cruise, the thug menu is at your first visit in Rapunzel's and the Lantern menu is the last time you're in Rapunzel's for dinner. (If you have a shorter cruise, you just get the Lantern menu.) The pub takeover night is during a night they show Tangled.

Rapunzel's restaurant was gorgeous but I found the food very salty on both nights. The only times I actually didn't eat my meals. First day I left the soup and the second day I didn't eat the mains (they brought me some more of the prawn starter instead).

We were lucky enough to sit on the row of tables along the aisle from the stage. It was very loud and lively. The characters were always walking around and Rapunzel and Flynn each went to the tables separately. We were definitely in the centre of the action. I did wonder how much the people near the window or the other side enjoyed it. I'm sure they heard what's going on since it was VERY loud where we were, but I'm not sure if they saw everything.

It was in several stages since our cruise was 11 nights...so the first night was a little bit of a show, then the next time it was a bit more show, on the third night it was more show, but the last night which is her birthday celebration, it seemed like constant chaos. I couldn't hear my daughter speaking to me and she was sitting beside me.

I do like it more than Carioca's but I felt it was TOO interactive...if that's even possible. I love the show at the stage and the dancing along the aisle and when they asked the kids to join a line of dancing...but I think I would prefer to leave it at that. I felt like we couldn't eat in peace....and I guess I wish it was less interactive and more a show...probably not what most people want.

Oh interesting, on our 10 day, they had the birthday party first, then the thugs, then the lantern celebration. So I guess there isn't a set order. We were kind of far back and found it hard to see. So, I would ask to be seated close to the stage because it wasn't all that fun not being able to see things clearly.

I wish they would combine the dessert menus on the cruises where there is only Lantern Night. Only the Thug Night menu has a gluten-free dessert offering. (I know I can always get a Mickey bar, but it’s nice to not have to resort to those all the time.)

Next time just ask. I was able to get "off menu" gluten free desserts by asking my server if it was possible (in my case I got banana foster creme brulee 2 nights in a row even though it was never offered on a menu simply because I asked if it would be and told my server it was my favorite and he made the magic happen!). I never once had a mickey bar for dessert in 11 nights!
