We went here for lunch on a whim. It was 12-28-02 and we spent the morning in Future world. We went on SE and TT singles and then in 1 hour the crowds got unbearable! The wait for SE was wrapped around and around and TT was 2 1/2 hours Stand-by! It was 11 AM. We went to World Showcase which opened at 10 AM and decided to try Nine Dragons. Now I am not a fan of Chinese but my DH and DS love it. We have some very nice Chinses restaurants where we live so we usually don't eat Chinese when we vacation. But they choose it and we walked in at 11:15 and they were not serving until 11:30 so we waited. By 11:20 a crowd had formed inside and then they started seating but before that they came up to us and annouced that we were the "First" Family today and we were honored with a certificate and the whole staff came out and clapped and it was so nice! They gave us an embossed certificate and wrote our last name and our State in Chinese on it!

On with the lunch. We all decided to do the Buffet. They bring it to you family style and it was pretty good! My DH and DS said it rated a B+. I liked all the vegtables and the soup. It was $14.75 per person. I think. I did take a picture of the menu. So enjoy the pictures. Any questions ask away!

This is completely off topic, but your son is a cutie!

Thanks for the review and Pics. I have been debating to go there on my next trip. I think I will try it. Thanks again for all your reviews.

Wow, that place is gorgeous inside; and the food looks good, too! I'm so glad I made a ps for lunch on our next trip:bounce:

I have a question: what's the stuff in picture 11. It looks like really bright red meatballs (although, I'm sure they are not meatballs:o ) with bits of pineapple garnishing the dish?

Thanks again for your review & pics.

Thanks for the great pictures!

My guess on the "red meatballs" is General Tsao's chicken? Or sweet and sour chicken.

Thanks for sharing your pics! Made me hungry. ;) :p

We had dinner at Nine Dragons last November, and I was very apprehensive due to several questionable reviews. Boy, were we grateful that we took the chance. It was great! I am usually not adventuresome, but this is the place to try new dishes! Don't be swayed by others opinions-decide for yourself!

Thanks for the pics.:) We really liked it.It has really changed from what it used to be.

MHopkins2 - Thanks! LOLOLOL!

f-LORI-da - DVCajun is correct~ It is general chicken!

nutz4dzny,
Do you know if everyone in your party must order the lunch buffet? Also, do you know if they let you make any substitutions for items? For example, if the buffet listed sweet and sour pork do you think they would let you substitute sweet and sour chicken? Does anyone know? Thanks for your pictures and review. You've made me hungry again!

Belle5 - I honestly don't know the answers to your questions.

Sorry I made you hungry!!!!

Hi, Nutz - I am really enjoying your restaurant reviews and photos! You have gotten me interested in some restaurants I've never tried.
Keep up the great work - Your pal, grumpyandbashful

Thanks for the review. For some reason this restaurant has never been an option on any of my trip list.

After reading your report I think I may add it as an Epcot option on a future trip.

Great pictures as usual! The food does look really good, I'm glad your family enjoyed it.
We haven't tried this restaurant yet and it seems they have stepped up a notch from the ugly reviews I have seen. I always appreciate reviews and pics of places we might want to dine at next time.
BTW, how were the ice creams? What kind of taste was the red bean? Does it compare to anything?

Debbie

Belle 5, Not everyone in your party has to order the Taste of China. There are no substitutions, but they will bring you as much as you want of all the other dishes.

This is a very good value, the restaurant is very nice, the servers are wonderful. One of the servers showed my niece how to use chop sticks. My niece, who is a picky eater loved the lemon chicken.

Renee, I have really enjoyed all of your pictures!
