My wedding at Polynesian Luau Beach was this past Friday! I'm going to try to focus on the positive here, and NOT the many negatives of this vacation (lice discovery prior to leaving, double ear infection and a trip to an out of state clinic, not covered by insurance, preteen meltdowns daily, and nosebleeds, to name a few!).
The location was beautiful, and the day was sunny and beautiful (although a little steamy for Spanx! Haha)! My on site coordinator, Kristin, was great, and the event was very smooth. Reverend Tim Herring was my officiant, and he was great at including my husband's (not sure I've said that yet!) kids. Randy Chapman was my photographer, and though I haven't seen the pics yet, I think they'll be great. I showed him some I wanted to recreate, and he was very creative as well. I love when a photographer will get on the ground to get the shot they want! Videography (Stan Severance) was short... I don't mean that in a bad way, but while he was taping, I was busy with gettin' hitched so I didn't really talk to him much or see what he was doing! We got a bunch of shots at our hotel (Saratoga Springs), the Polynesian, and also went to the Beach club for some more shots. The plan was to go to the Boardwalk, and I'm not sure why that changed... but it did. I'd have liked to have gone there, but I wasn't hell bent on it. Having the limo was great... all in all, a great ceremony. The rest of the day took a turn for the worse... but I touched on the bad stuff enough!
Info I would have LOVED Disney to provide PRIOR to the ceremony would be floral preservation. Being a destination wedding, I hadn't really thought I'd be able to preserve my bouquet. The day of the ceremony they gave me information on doing it... but you get an answering service on the weekend, and they wouldn't have gotten my bouquet until Monday... and I wasn't sure it'd last that long. They had various options for ways to preserve/display... wasn't able to really see the stuff from my phone... I just would have liked to be able to review the stuff before getting there for my wedding. Maybe I should have known, but didn't. I brought it home with me and it didn't do well obviously... I just hung it upside down and we'll see what I can do with it.
Honestly I LOVED getting married at Disney, and doing it intimately... but the rest of the vacation (not honeymoon... jammed the wedding into the middle of a previously planned vacation) couldn't have gone worse... I had to keep telling myself "this isn't my honeymoon, this isn't my honeymoon." We barely spent any time together because of all of the stuff going on with the kids and health stuff.
Now, I'm planning a 5 year vow renewal
