Mike and I arrived at the Magic Kingdom late because I had trouble getting him out of bed. Unfortunately the only ride we wanted to go on, Space Mountain, already had a 35 minute wait. We decided to leave and go to Epcot to turn in our pin pursuit maps, but as we passed the Main Street Bakery, I remembered that I had wanted to try the French toast loaf, and we hadn’t had breakfast yet. We ducked in as a family was leaving, complaining about the wait, but Mike commented that they hadn’t seen the evening lines yet! There were 15-20 people in line, but it moved very quickly.

Mike left the choice up to me, so I picked the French toast loaf (around $3.50) and a quiche ($3.49) for us to share. I also ordered a coffee (even though it’s Nescafe – ick. $1.89) and Mike grabbed a tiny orange juice ($1.49) from the round drink station. We were handed the items on a tray, and directed to one of two cashier stands behind the serving line. We went up to the cashier, Mike said he’d pay, and I went off to get condiments and a table. The tables inside are behind the cubicle that the glasswork display is in, and there are only about a half dozen tables with some seats at a bar. There is a great condiments stand, however, with lids, straws, sweeteners, honey, butter, jam, salt, pepper, cream, a toaster, and much more.

The quiche we ordered was fairly small, maybe about 4-5 inches in diameter, and contained eggs, of course, cheese, potatoes, and sausage. It was actually pretty good, average counter service quality. The French toast loaf looked like it’s name: as if a loaf of layered French toast had been made, and the piece we had sliced from that loaf. It was slightly overdone on the outside, which I actually like, and the inside was moist. It would have been nice with a little more cinnamon or other seasoning. I’ve seen the recipe on different websites and will definitely try to make it at home sometime.

Other items they had on sale included different breakfast pastries such as danishes and turnovers, bagels, and even some not-so-breakfast-y items such as brownies and ham and cheese wraps. They offered coffee, cappuccino, espresso, lattes, apple and orange juice, fountain sodas, and plain and chocolate milk.

We had been here once previously (ordered a dirt and worms cup, soda, and coffee, picture included), and will return again for a quick snack. We even picked up a Mickey rice krispie treat to save for later!

I love all the detail you include in your reports - Thanks! I've wanted to eat at Main Street Bakery every trip, it always smells so good when we walk by! One of these trips we're going to have to stop by and try it out! ::yes::

Mmmmm, you picked one of my favorites. That French Toast Loaf is wonderful.
Thanks for the review!

I can't go to Magic Kingdom (Over 15 trips under my belt now) without stopping at the Bakery for one of their cupcakes. It's become a tradition with me. My husband gets his cookies and I have to get my cupcake! I didn't know they did French Toast Loaves though...I might have to start a new tradition!

Yep! I just have to upload them onto Yahoo photos, which I can do now that I'm home from work. Will be working on that right now.

Hopefully will also get a skeleton of the website up this weekend as well.

Edit: Ok, try this link

I just wanted to say that on my trip last weekend I just discovered the Strawberry Shortcake at the Main Street Bake Shop.
It was probably the highlight of this trip LOL.

Oh that is fantastic! Thank you so much! I cannot wait to get one of them!

Can't wait for all your pictures to be up!

What a fabulous idea!

Thanks again for all your hard work and for sharing with us!

I have really enjoyed it and your reviews are awesome!:chat:
