My family and I just got back from a 4-night stay at the Comfort Suites maingate east. We really loved the fact that it was so close to Disney World (about 10 min. drive to DW) and that they serve a free deluxe breakfast (eggs, waffles, etc). Fortunately, I was able to get a great deal for this hotel by making reservations online. :cool1: There are many shops and restaurants located nearby, which really came in handy for my family and me. Next to the hotel is a place called Old Town, which has go-carts, a ferris wheel and other fair-type rides.

The rooms are quite spacious and have a sink, microwave and mini refrigerator. The beds were really comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, the carpet in our room was a little worn and had quite a few stains. The bathroom could use a little updating, too. :sad2: Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel again.

I've stayed there several times and have never seen a bad review of this hotel.

Thanks for the review! We'll be staying at this hotel in early March.

You can get excellent rates if you use the Magicard from the Orlando Tourism & Conference folks. :thumbsup2

I also stayed there during our 2005 trip. It was great. Staff was friendly, rooms clean, breakfast was very nice. I LOVED that it was so close to Old Town. It was a great place to go during the warm evenings. We loved eating at the A & W.

Anyone else run into the raccoon by the pool? I was sitting down watching the kids swim one evening and he mosied on over to the garbage can about 6 feet from me. He wasn't even phased by the people. I asked the bartender who said he's a regular around there and they try to shoo him away but he just comes back. He'd never hurt anyone. Kind of like another version of Animal Kingdom Lodge :)

You can definitely get cheaper than rack rates by investigating. I got ours for $59 per night during Thanksgiving week in 2005. I can't remember the name of the site I used but maybe I just Googled the name and surfed the results.

We were there in May of this year, and we loved this hotel, and yes we did see the raccoon as well, of course where I live we have a ton of them so it wasnt anything unusual but the people we were there with had never seen one before, so that was quite entertaining!! But this is a great hotel to stay at!

Darn! I didn't see the raccoon! It was probably Meeko (from Pocahontas) saying hello. :rotfl:

SereneOne and highland3: You're welcome! :flower1:
