hi

here is my experience with the GC's

Pastamore- i had one $50 certificate- no problems- good food- spaghetti was delicious and very nice servers

Nascar- i had 2 $25- i let the server know up front that i have 2 certificates and would i be able to put on one check or would i need to split the certificates into 2 checks with my kids- he said he would take all our orders and then check with manager at the end- we ended up with one check- good food and fun decor

Hardrock- let the server know up front that i have 2 certificates and would i be able to put on one check or would i need to split the certificates into 2 checks with my kids- she said she would take all our orders and then check with manager at the end- we ended up with one check (they weren't too happy about the 2 certificates though)- brownie sundae was fantastic

Kitchen- i had 1 $50 certificate- no problems- but let me tell you this place is awful pricey- we all had hamburgers and one cobb salad to share- the bill came to $90!!- my hamburger alone with onions, cheese and mushrooms was $14 buck (wow)- decent hamburgers but not worth $14 bucks:faint: and a soda was $2.50 a piece

Motown- i had 7 $50 certificates (bought for $10 a piece) one day the server included his tip and cost of food on one bill- we used 2 certificates that day ($100) (i tipped him extra)we ordered appetizers, entree's and deserts)- the second time we went the server said that the tip would have to be billed seperate- we used 2 $50 certificates and ordered lots of stuff(never finished- took home doggy bags) the third time we went we were complete pigs- we ordered the most expensive stuff on the menu- alcoholic drinks, deserts, appetizers...we used 3 $50 certificates this time with no problem- the only problem was the food was just okay- they also add a mandatory tip of 15% for any check over $50!- but for $30 bucks to have a meal & drinks worth $150 .... how could you beat that!!:teeth:

Wantilian Luau- i had 2 $100 GC's- i had placed two reservations- this way i wouldn't be told that i could only use one per check- you paid before you sat down - i put one res in my name and one in my sons- and we all sat together- the food really didn't appeal to me - check out the review-http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=580818
(sorry the link won't highlight- but you can cut and paste into your browser)

i didn't have any problem combining the certificates and made sure all servers knew this up front- motown was probably the easiest to use multiple certificates at one time- don't worry about the posibility of having to get two checks for one table- its done all the time- just let them know that you and a member of your family both have a gift certificate and they are pretty good about keeping it on one check (especially if you wait to let them know after they have already taken your order)

enjoy!!!:sunny:

We didn't have any trouble using ours either. We did always ask for separate checks since we were two different families paying separately. I also thought that odd that the tip was tacked on if your check was over $50. We had our tip added on automatically everywhere since we were a party of 7, but I did notice that on their menu and found it an odd policy. We never presented our GC's until it was time to pay. Only at the Nascar Cafe did it seem to throw the waiter for a loop. He completely messed up our bills and charged my family's meal to our friend's credit card.

thank you for letting us know how it working out with these GC. I'm off very soon and will be using Nascar, Pastamore, and the Kitchen to help with the food budget. :wave2:

We appreciate the review. We'll be going in June and using Pastamore, The Kitchen, and Nascar. It helps to know what to expect.

Thanks for the update bratray. We're leaving Sunday & have Pastamore & Nascar GC's. Hope we have as good an experience at these places as you did. Appreciate you taking the time to post!:D

Bratray - Were you able to use your GC for The Kitchen for dinner or did it have to be for lunch only? Does it say that on the GC? Did you recall what time lunch ends? If I wanted to use more than one GC do you think I would have to split my check? Sorry about the questions. I would like to order more GC but would like to use them for dinner.

Thanks for the info on The Kitchen. I bought one of the door-buster ones the other day since it says they are good thru 7/31. Hoping they are open late enough for lunch that we can go after our flight arrives. It is only DD & myself and I figured $20 per meal minimum for us anyway at theme-park prices. This will be a nice sit down meal for the $18.50 (plus tip). I was pricing out what we would eat on the menu and we may have enough left to get an item to-go. I'll just need to find a place to warm it up later.

hi barbara

the kitchen GC is for lunch and it states this on the coupon- i believe lunch is between 12 and 4

i don't know about the kitchen for splitting a check- we only had one $50 GC- don't worry about it though- just play it by ear and see what happens

enjoy:teeth:

Thanks for your input. Maybe we will head to The Kitchen JUST before 4pm.
