Reverse Magical Express

We are planning to drive to Disney World and stay on property for a week. Unfortunately, my husband must return to our home for business, so he plans to fly back home from MCO and then fly back to MCO at the end of the week to drive back home with us. Would he be allowed to use Magical Express? It seemed to me that since buses are constantly going back and forth to and from the airport, this should be possible, especially since he wouldn't have checked bags. We would prefer not to take him to the airport ourselves because that would waste alot of our day that we could be using at the parks. We would prefer not to pay for a taxi or park at the airport because that would be added expense.

I chatted with an online cast member who seemed to think I could, but he did not know the process. He gave me a phone number for Magical Express. I then called and talked to a very rude Cast Member today, and she said he could not do this. Should I try to talk with someone else, or is this the policy? We hope to travel next weekend. Thanks!

I would try calling back. It may or may not be the policy, but really there is no excuse for the CM to be rude, if you get a rude CM again, ask for the lead.

My husband is rarely with me the whole time I am onsite Disney. He frequently will fly down for a weekend and he takes Magical EXpress to the airport and then back to the resort when he comes back to Disney. I can see them disallowing excessive flying back and forth, but I would think at least once each way per week is reasonable. They just need to know that only one member of your party is leaving, so that they don't accidently check the rest of the group out of the room.

If you are staying at a Disney owned resort you're entitled to use ME to the airport once during your stay so, yes, your husband can take ME to the airport. You should call ME and arrange to have your husband picked up at your resort for the day he is flying out. There is no excuse for a rude CM, if that happens ask for a supervisor or hang up and call again.

The only resorts on property that do not participate in ME are Swan and Dolphin, Shades of Green and the hotels near DTD.

As long as your dh isn't duplicating DME trips...taking the DME bus back to MCO twice...he should be fine. Each WDW resort guest gets a ride from the airport and then back to the airport....it shouldn't matter which way is first. It may confuse a CM, but it should be very workable.
Now....IF you are worried about his being denied access...especially when he returns to MCO to head back to your resort....this is what I would do. Sign the whole family up for DME. Then, when your dh leaves the resort, he uses a voucher for his return to MCO. When he gets back to MCO, to go back to the resort, let him use another person's voucher...hopefully you have another male in the group so that no one would have any question about names. That way....one person rides the bus back to MCO, 'another' person arrives at MCO for ride to resort. Yes, confusing. But may be easier for DME CMs in the long run.

Thank you so much for encouraging me to call back. I got the nicest CM on my second try, and she said that he could absolutely use Magical Express in reverse. She set it all up for us with no problems. If only the CM had been so helpful yesterday--the price of his flight doubled while I waited! Oh well, at least I got my answer. Thanks again! This was my first time using the forum, and I am a fan!
