Revenge of the Mummy

Can anyone describe what the roller coaster portion of this ride is like? We've never been to Universal and I know some of the coasters are too much for me (the Hulk) but am hoping to experience some of the other big attractions. I'm fine with some of the Disney coasters (Thunder Mountain, even Everest) but don't love Rock & Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. Any thoughts/descriptions would be very much appreciated.

Short, zippy and it constantly threatens to be a LOT scarier than it actually is. For instance, in the beginning it seems like it's going to throw you backwards down a long slope - but within seconds you stop and the slope turns out to be a tiny one after all. It doesn't invert, but it's in the dark a lot so you can't really tell what's coming up next.

I'm a total coaster weenie and I had no problems with it. It was less harrowing than Everest, that's for sure. I guess I'd compare it to Space Mountain, if Space Mountain had scary creatures constantly leaping out of the dark at you. It's smoother than Space Mountain though (keeping in mind I haven't ridden the refurbed version).

Mummy is a great ride.

it's dark, fast and has great theming. Keep your head back as the ride stops quickly more than once. I think I read online that top speed is around 45. Space is like 35-40 range and RocknRoller is 55-60 range. No huge drops/inversions on Mummy. Lots of things appearing and moving to keep the ride fun and less coastery.

At one point in the ride it is quite quick and surprisingly fast... but overall a great ride!!

Agree with what everyone is saying. I'd describe it as a more thrilling, indoor Thunder Mountain, with some cool special effects.
