Reunion resort??

After our reservation at WBC was unexpectedly cancelled I made a reservation for a 3 bedroom house at reunion. Just looking to get an idea of how far disney is from reunion and what it is like? Thanks for any input!!

Reunion is a big place so it can take a few minutes to get out of there but if you go out to the Champions Gate exit 58 and take I - 4 you're only about 10 min from Disney property (World Drive)exit 62. Once you get on World Dr. then you're various minutes to whichever park, about 5 to DHS and AK, 7 or 8 to Epcot and 10 or so to MK parking lot.
If you're up toward the north side of Reunion you can take Old Lake Wilson Rd and head either to Sherberth Rd into the AK side of Disney or east on 192 ( turn right near marker 156 on the map to World Dr.
On this map Reunion is #21 and 22 . The Sherberth Rd way into Disney is a red line starting at WH on Old Lake Wilson Rd.

This area is very easy to get around once you've done it.

It's about 10 minutes away, my husband worked there for years, it is beautiful, a great resort! Playgrounds, a huge water park, and a brand new smaller water park, and 3 great golf courses.
There are 2 gates at reunion, one will take you to I-4, then you can get off on the exit 62 which is world drive to take you to disney, the other gate takes you into 429 and you can go I-4 or 429 to disney. Either way it's very close. Have a great trip!

Thanks guys! it's scary going to the unknown sometimes, I've read on here that reunion was having some financial hardships so it wasn't as up kept as usual. Is reunion gated? I've also read about resorts that were just not safe. This will be our first time staying off site.

About 4-5 years ago when everything was really bad they went thru a management change, but it was always kept up nicely, it is growing everyday, a lot if houses going up and with the new water park. It is very safe, 2 gate houses. You will love it.

We just stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at Reunion in April. Travel time to MK was probably 15ish minutes. We were on one of the golf courses, near a community pool as well as not far from the water park. Everything was kept up well and we would definitely stay again.
