I'm going to put in a poll -- who do you think the murdered friend is? We know it's not Carla, since we saw the detective interviewing her in the present day.

Meanwhile, my thoughts. I was looking forward to this series. It seemed intriguing with the concept, and whodunits are always fun if done right.

The first episode seemed -- well, just okay. I think the fact that I have to go to Fox.com to double check the names of a couple of the characters is a sign that they didn't leave a very strong impression on me.

Things seemed really cliched. One girl, I think it was Jenna, made a comment to another "how Molly Ringwald of you". The characters seemed like they were from a John Hughes film. There's the rich guy and his poor buddy, who both love the same girl, who's dating the rich guy but is pregnant by the poor guy. There's the shy girl who's in love with the guy who has no clue about music, while he has the hots for the slut.

And then we have the poor guy taking the fall for the rich guy who was driving drunk, got in an accident, so that rich guy doesn't go to jail and poor guy will get probation but instead gets a year in jail (smooth move calling that one, rich dad).

Not to mention -- if the doctors release someone injured in an accident and that someone dies soon after from internal bleeding, shouldn't that be malpractice on the doctors and not vehicular manslaughter on the other driver???

I may give it another couple of weeks and see if it improves. Right now, it's just "eh" for me.

I watched it last night and I really liked it!!! I loved all of the 80's music in it!

My one pet peeve with it though was the fact that there was all of this random 80's stuff thrown in. The year was supposed to be 1986, but you had music from several years before that being played, the kinda slutty girl wearing the whole Madonna looking outfits complete with the ton of black rubber bracelets (which NO ONE wore around here after about 1984), etc. etc. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm picky, but I am an 80's aficianado!!!

I couldn't believe that Will (the poor guy... even though I still think of him as JJ from "American Dreams"!) would take the fall like that for his friend. I would have told the rich guy and his smarmy dad to stuff it.

I think that the rich guy is going to be the murder victim.

I really enjoyed this show! I graduated in 1986 so it was fun seeing all those 80's things again. Did they get everything right? No, but I really didn't care because the story drew me in. I wonder how long they will drag it out before revealing the victim's identity. I was hooked and I'll definitely be tuning in again.

BTW i voted for Craig.

I was a little confused about why either of them were in trouble. The truck hit THEM-right? I jumped at that part. Pretty good though, a little boring at times.

I liked it, but I'm easy to please. Love the 80s and 80s music, so I was hooked. Plus, I have the hots for Will Estes (Will/JJ). It was very much St. Elmo's Fire meets every other 80s movie, but since I grew up on them, that was okay.

I voted for Sam as the murdered friend. I think if Aaron or Jenna were murdered, it would be pretty blah. The real story was between Craig, Will and Sam.

We watched and thought it was just ok. I'm hoping it gets better. The fact that they threw in a bunch of 80s music and dropped a bunch of 80s trivia was kind of annoying. Just a little of this can go a long way. If they have to keep reminding you of what decade it is they arent doing a very good job of telling the story IMO.
I'm sure we'll watch again to see if it develops better.

I graduated in 1984 so I definitely agree about the music!

The truck hit them because they ran the red light.

I'm thinking it was Sam who was killed. Of course, the reason why whoever was killed may be several episodes away, and everything we saw was just setup material.

I think they ran a stop sign. I also voted for Craig.

I enjoyed the show. I also graduated in 1986 and I thought the nostalgia stuff was fun. I am very curious what they will do if they get picked up for another season. It seems with each episode being a year they would have nothing to do after 20 episodes.

I enjoyed the show. Not the greatest writing or acting, but it was enough to get me interested.

In the previews, we see the detective talking to one of the guys. It was the back of the head, so I couldn't tell who it was, but I would guess it was Aaron.

We've only seen 1 episode, so things and storylines can quickly change, but I predict Sam as the murdered because she was involved with storylines dealing with Craig/Will and Carla.

I read an interview with the producers that they would start over next season with a new mystery and a new cast.

I was wondering if that was what they would do since I heard the series was only going to last for a season.

I think the kid that samantha is going to have is actually the murderer....she/he will be about 20 yrs old in the present...will find out how Craig ruined her fathers (will's) life and will kill craig.

I voted for Aaron. These tv writers have a knack of steering you in the wrong direction to make you think it's someone else, when actually the person that was murdered is the person you would least expect!!
