Two questions here... if I have a return but can't find the receipt, can I still get it put back on my cc if I have the card I originally used, like at Target?

Also, the kids got a couple duplicate items...I have no idea where these toys were purchased and no receipt, but I do know they are both sold at Walmart (I looked up the ISBN number on Walmart.com). Will Walmart accept them as returns?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The last time I tried to return something to Walmart w/o my receipt, they couldn't look it even if I gave them my card.
As for the duplicate toys, I'd return them to Walmart. There are lots of people who say that's wrong, but if you don't know where they came from, Walmart is the best option at least in my neck of the woods.

Thank you. Its the same here. And I dont mean to do something shady but I would hate the ask the original gifter for the receipt or where it came from. No reason for them to know it was a duplicate and make them feel bad. Its the Thought that counts :thumbsup2

I love how Target can look it up without a receipt if you have the card you purchased it with. I was hoping Walmart would be the same.

My sister returned some stuff at Walmart last weekend without a receipt and they gave her a store gift card with no problem. They told that for the "week after Christmas" if its something Walmart sells they will give you a gift card with no issues. Not sure how long that policy is.

I just brought a few gifts back to Walmart yesterday without a receipt. I also returned something that I had purchased that I did have the receipt for. The clerk mentioned that it was good I had the receipt for the last item because I was approaching the fifty dollar limit. Now, what the fifty dollar limit means, I'm not sure. Maybe they call a manager for approval, maybe they won't refund anything over fifty dollars, or maybe it's just certain walmarts that have the limit. However, it was super easy to return the items I didn't have the receipt for, and since Walmart generally doesn't do sales, just the small rollbacks, I'm pretty confident I got what my son paid for them.

I had asked him for the receipt, but he's not very organized about stuff like that. On the plus side, I know for a fact that he bought these items about two weeks before Christmas, instead of the day before Christmas, so he is improving.

I worked at Walmart as a manager for three years ,to answer your question no they cant look it up like Target does.

What is stupid is we use the SAME system but that feature isn't turned on. I told them over and over again how dumb it was but they didn't want to do it.

If you throw a fit the cash office "might" research it, but it is done by hand and they will likely lie and not even look.

Well, I went and they took them all back, just gave me credit on a gift card. No issues at all.

I just returned some things I ordered online. I had no receipt because there was not one included with the shipment. They asked my email and they looked it up like that. very easy and no issues.
