My BF and I are returning to US/IoA this fall for the first time since 2000.
We had gone with a large group of friends, and it was at US he and I realized we were more than friends. :love2:

So, what has changed since we've been? I remember hearing amazing things about Spiderman before we went and it was grand, but not so much about The Mummy. How is it?

Any other not to be missed attractions been added lately?

FYI, we have no plans to attend the Rodent Kingdom, except for EPCOT. BF missed going last time because he had to fly home early for a business meeting. Being adults without children, we didn't much care for Disney (MGM was okay). However, we adored US/IoA!

Only things that I can think of would be the Mummy (replaced Kong) and Fear Factor Live.

Mummy is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Great coaster/dark ride. Great effects! Do not miss it! Also Fear Factor is getting great reviews! I look forward to checking it out next month when I go.

Let's not forget about Shrek 4D..... Mother Fletcher would be sooooo upset :rotfl:

Oops, forgot that came out recently aswell. Sorry Mother Fletcher ! That is also a must-see.

Welcome to the Dis, TXOktober! :disrocks: Just from your username I think we have a candidate for Halloween Horror Nights!
You might get a kick out of chicken dancing with Jimmy Nuetron if you remember saving Elroy.
Yeah, you need to go to Shrek. Remember not to stand under the bed of nails. Thats the splash zone.
I got sick riding the Mummy, when it opened, but everyone seems to bristle up when I say that so its our little secret. :ssst: I can tell you that the ride is state of the art that matches Spidey in many ways and exceeds in others. I got sick riding Mission Space, too! And Back to the Future and...
Tell us more how US brought you together? Did BF save you from Kong or MIB's Alien attack? Let him know that he will have to spring for one of the 3 resort hotels when he's fixing to pop the question!

When are you going?
And are you staying onsite?

Sounds like you are thrill ride fans. The Mummy will be fun. You could also drive over to SWF one morning to check out JTA and Kracken. Visit Epcot at night, it's more fun in the evening, plus you can drink beer in the world showcase and watch Illuminations to end the evening.

Yes, I'm a thrill ride nut. When BF met me, he hated thrill rides! Now he loves wooden coasters and will ride metal costers except for those where your legs dangle. (So the IoA coasters & Dr Doom are right out for him!)
He loved Spiderman, MiB, Back to the Future...and we LOVE movies and comics, so US/IoA is like Nirvanna for us. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We're taking another couple with us and hoping to bid our way into a villa on skyauctions. If not, it's going to be an I-drive motel. All four of us are trying to keep the costs down. The other couple are hoping this is their last fling before settling down and having kids and we're saving for a downpayment on a house.

November 12th is our target date, I cannot wait!!!

"... except for those where your legs dangle."

Keep in mind that Hulk is a looping sit-down coaster, where your feet are planted firmly on the floor - so maybe he'll give that a try. I know that the "dangling" aspect freaks some people out, but that's a shame, as your Dueling-Dragons type coaster is about as safe a ride as you'll find anywhere. In fact, not even considering on-ride injuries (which occur far more often on "flat" rides) your standard, innocent-looking "Wild Mouse" coaster has greater G forces than Dueling Dragons ...

Hulk was rehabing last time we were there so I've been salivating to ride it, since it gets such good reviews. :Pinkbounc

It's an intimidator, but I think he'll ride it. He's ridden some pretty scary rides...sometimes only once...but he's ridden them. :love2:

I know DDs are a great pair of coasters, very smooth for inverted coasters, a lot less head banging on the restraints than the average Batman: The Ride. The BF has height issues and prefers riding in an enclosed car. He's happiest if he has to wedge his long legs into the thing. It give him a false sense of security. I'm not going to be the one to tell him that if the restraints fail, there isn't any way his knees are going to hold him in a coaster...I'll just let him have his little fantasy.

I'm very much looking forward to The Mummy, sounds like a cross between Spidey and Rock-N-Roller Coaster!

You know, this gives me a thought - I wonder which ride exerts greater G forces - Dueling Dragons or Cat in the Hat? My money's on the Cat ...
